Chapter 6: Heated

            It was unmistakably clear, after kissing Hayden, that I’d never feel quite the same about any other. With the smallest amount of pressure, I pressed my lips against his and immediately felt shivers streaming down my spine. It was incredible, thrilling, exciting, romantic, perfect, and every other single wonderful word in the English language.

            Just when I thought he’d break away, Hayden pulled me in closer and lifted me off the ground to intensify our already blissful embrace. His lips were tenderly warm as the traced my own with skillful ease and then, to absolutely drive my nerves insane, he bit down softly on my lower lip and smirked against my skin. Tease. I giggled against his lips and hugged his neck affectionately.

            I felt, for the first time in what felt like a very long time, safe.

Hayden’s POV:

Recap

            “How beautiful you are,” I replied softly as I ran my thumb softly across her glowing skin.

            She was incredible in every way. From her picturesque facial features to her unbelievably toned figure, Cassidy was hands-down the most beautiful girl I’d ever met. However, for the first time in my life, I was more enchanted by her personality and how brave, kind, and intelligent she was. Nonetheless, she was not only an amazing person but she also inspired me to better myself.

            Wrapped up in my adoring thoughts, I hardly got a chance to prepare for her sudden and passionate kiss. Though, when it came, I might have to say it was the happiest moment of my life. Cassidy was everything I could’ve ever wanted and now here she was, totally smooth and collected, capturing my lips. Man, wasn’t the guy supposed to make the first move?

            Chuckling to myself, I wrapped my arms around her tiny waist and lifted her off the cold ground. She sure knows how to keep me on my toes. Then, teasingly, I bit down on her plump pink lip and smiled as I heard her musical laughter flutter into the wind.

            “And all this time I thought you were shy,” I pulled back slightly and brushed back her soft blond bangs. Looking up at me with her big blue eyes, Cassidy smiled and blushed.

            “I just know what I want,” She whispered whist still blushing adorably.

            “You want me?” I couldn’t help but grin joyfully. Cassidy wanted me. The more I repeated the sentence in my head, the more I liked it.
