I wake up to the sound of an alarm at 5 am, I search for the clock that's making it but can't seem to find anything. I don't remember putting an alarm, and especially not for 5 am.

I get up in search for the damn alarm that won't seem to stop and suddenly stop moving when I realize that it's coming from my parents room, my heart starts racing as I enter the room and see the small clock on the bedside of my fathers side.

I don't remember him ever having this but I'm sure he got it when I was away, because I always woke them up when everything was normal.

It's odd that it still works, so I just stop and remove the alarm then head back to bed to sleep until 6:30 to get ready for my first day of college here.

I wake up again, but this time to a familiar sound of alarm and I reach out to stop it once the annoying noise starts eating my brains out. I get up and head to the bathroom to do my usual routine and then choose some comfortable clothes. I eat some cereal and rush out of the house to make it there on time.

As I walk in, I go to the administration to see which classes I'll be in. Mrs. Blacke gives me everything I need and shows me to my next class, but halfway through she stops me and motions me to a tall guy that's turning his back to us and I suddenly can feel the excitement that makes me want to see his face.

"Alex, dear would you please show Violet here to her next class, English literature." Mrs. Blacke says and I can't help but gasp when he turns around.

I thought that the guys yesterday I saw were like angels but he, he is a different kind of angel and I'm positive that he isn't any kind of human.

He reaches for my hand to shake it and I can't help the sheepish smile on my face, I shake his hand and stutter when I say, "I-I'm Violet." "I know," he says and I can see Mrs. Blacke smile from the corner of my eye as she turns around leaving us alone.

He motions for us to turn and doesn't speak when we head to my first class, but I don't mind because I can stare at his face all day if it takes but I quickly turn around when he catches me staring and I'd rather not look like a freak.

Once we reach a class that's much too empty, he wishes me good luck , "So this is goodbye?" I blurt out and quickly put my hand over my mouth hoping it would take the stupid words back.

Why would you say that Violet? Are you stupid? My subconscious adds in like I didn't already know that. He just chuckles and waves before turning and leaving me in embarrassment.

Once all my classes are over I decide to go the local diner I always used to go with my parents. I enter and sit on a stall and I can't stop the redness on my cheeks when I see Alex, Nick, Theo, the girl I saw with Nick earlier and a gorgeous blond guy that can't seem to stop looking at me.

Thank God no one else noticed me except for the blond, so I quickly order take away and wait in agony until my meal arrives so that I can quickly get out of here without them noticing.
I don't like socializing with people and I probably won't talk to Alex after what I said to him earlier. The embarrassment still lies in my bones.

My meal finally arrives and I walk towards the exit in hopes that none of them see me or stop me but my prayers prove me wrong when I hear a familiar voice call my name.

Its not the familiar angelic voice I wanted to hear but this works as well, I shyly turn around and smile as Theo calls me to their table, "Come sit with us Violet,"

"Thank you but I have to head home." I answer.

I start turning away but someone stops me, "I'm Daniel," the blond guy says. "I'm Violet, uh -nice to meet you." I state startled trying to rid my wrist from his hold.

"I'm Iris," the gorgeous girl says from behind Daniel, "Now let the poor girl go Daniel." she elbows him from the side, he removes his hand and I smile at her in appreciation because that was uncomfortable.

I wave goodbye and quickly turn around to leave, but just as I do, I hear the voice I wanted to hear all day say something in the lines of "Mate we can't have you do that again, take it slow." I don't know what in the world they're talking about and I sure hope it wasn't about me although I have a feeling it was.

I reach home and eat in silence, once I finish I start with the homework they gave us. I mean who the hell gives homework on the first day?

Just as I'm about to fall asleep from boredom I hear water running within the house, I'm not sure where it's coming from but I can hear it so clearly.

I walk around in search for the source, when I reach the kitchen I see that the water is running all the way down the sink.

My heart starts skipping a million times per second and I get the baseball bat my dad used to keep under the sofa. I quietly reach the sink and close the faucet and look around wondering how that happened, first it was the alarm and now it's the sink, I just hope that it's just the house that's old and that no one removed my fathers alarm because I have no idea how to deal with such things.

Still a bit terrified I sit down to control myself, but it doesn't help when you're all alone in a big house.
