Song: Lucky- Bruno Mars.
"What if I like you Sarah?" He asked.
"Well I still have to leave," she said with a shrug flipping her long black hair over her shoulder.
"Not if you don't want to,"
"Says you,"
"Nope, you have a choice Sarah, you could move in with me,"
"What if I don't want to?"
"Do you want to?"
"No,"
"Lies," The argument shot back and forth for an hour until she was pacing the kitchen listening to crazy proposals of marriage, to a guy who had been in love with her for four years, the guy she had spent her life growing up next to.
"Are you sure?" She asked as she pulled her hair into a ponytail, and sat down next to him. It was crazy, yes, but it would work.
"I want to be with you forever,"
"This is crazy,"
"No it's not,"
"It is,"
Again the argument went on and on until she was in a white dress standing at the alter of some las Vegas wedding chapel, and he was in his fathers good suit. They left without telling anyone, and he gave her a plastic ring for her engagement band.
They said their I do's and then rode off into in the dark night. Gambling the night away.
Sixty years later, he sits at her side as she takes her last breath, remembering that life changing day, and telling the story to her, not letting her forget what he said to her that night. He promised to be with her forever, and forever it was. He promised to never let her go. Even when the machines beeped and her eyes shut for the last time.
He knew when she started to get bad that she would never remember his face in her final moments but he stayed strong anyway, because of that one thing he sad when they made it back to the hotel.
"I'm so lucky to have you, I swear to god Sarah, I'll never forget you, ever,"
Even when he watched them lower the wooden casket into the ground. The grave marked with lving husband and mother, to someone else's kids.
Woah this was short sorry. Tomorrow's will be better I promise.
