that night me, brad, dad, and penny all had a dinner party at pennys house
"thanks for coming guys" penny said
"any special occasion" amelia asked
we all looked at her as of bradley and dad didn't almost die
"no, not at all" i said sarcastically making everyone laugh
"alright we'll im off to allison's, see you all tomorrow" she yelled as she left
"actually" dad spoke
"as you guys know me and penny have been together for about a month now" he looked at her
"and i've asked her to mary me"
i choked on my drink

"don't you think it's a little soon" i coughed out
dad looked at penny "well yeah but, when you know. you just know" he took her hand in his
i wasn't fazed by dad dating anymore, he had done tons before, but marriage, it felt weird
"well we're glad your happy" bradley said
we all laughed
after a few minuets penny asked to talk to me
"i know it's soon, and i could never replace your mom" i stopped her
"penny, im not mad, i see home happy you make my dad, and i love you, you mean a lot to me, im happy for you" i said
"oh good cause i wanted you and amelia to be my maids of honor"
i eyes went wide "what really?"
"yes, i know there isn't usually two but, when do mitchell's ever do anything normal?" she laughed
"i would love that, does amelia know?" i asked
"no. not yet, im not quite sure how she'll react, it's not like she has a good relationship with her dad, and she adores pete but" she trailed off
"yeah, i get that" i said
when me and penny went back into the kitchen brad and dad were just talking, most likely about pilot stuff
"hey guys" i said as i grabbed onto bradley's arm
"hey, how's it go?" dad asked
i smiled and penny spoke "good, she agreed"
dad smiled
"great so did he" he said
i looked at bradley "beat man, yeah i pretty cool"
he said trying to sound arrogant
i punched him in the shoulder
"one of them" dad said "still gotta ask jake"
"ah yes, two best men for two maids of ho- wait jake?" i asked
"we'll he did save our lives" dad said
"but that means he's be walking with amelia" i said
and penny nodded "oh boy"
"what's wrong?" penny asked
"nothing. amelia might faint when she find out she'll be within three feet of him though"
"boom!" penny yelled
"noooo" dad groaned
me and brad gave each other weird looks
"i told you 'melia liked jake" lenny said
"pay up old man" she held out her hand

me and bradley laughed as das handed her a twenty

after the night was over me and bradley went home and dad stayed at pennys house
"hey what was admiral simpson asking you about today when we landed?" brad asked me
"he offered me a position to instruct, they want me to fly" i told him
he eyed me
"are you going to take it?"
"i don't know, i love it here, it's not like in going anywhere" i told him
"yeah, i've actually been thinking about getting my own place here, i wanna stick around for you and for mav" he said
i smiled at him
"i would love that" i hugged him, i had been worried that bradley would want to move back to where he was living before, he didn't fly for top gun officially
"i thought you might" he kissed me on the cheek
"and maybe in  a few months, you could live there too" he said
i smiled at him "yeah?"
"yeah, if you'd want to"
"i think i will, unless your secretly planning to break up with me" i said raising an eyebrow
he took my hand and shows me the ring he had given me hours earlier
"really?"
we both laughed
"c'mon, bed time" he said
i groaned "i'm not tied"
"your always tired" he said
i rolled my eyes at him "shut up chicken boy"
as i laid next to him in bed he pulled me closer to his chest, i watched as it rose and fell, i really was in love with bradley, i've only  ever really felt this way once before, and this time i wanted it to last
