We didn't get back from the band's concert until around 1 am, so naturally, I am groggy the next morning. It also doesn't help that I somehow now have a boyfriend. Yeah, still processing that one. Leave it to Sam to ask me out in such a grand way. God, he is such a corny idiot, but he's my corny idiot now.
I barely heaved myself out of the door once I decided to actually get ready for the day. I was planning to pick the fresh apples on the farm and bake them into a pie later, so I got to work. Climbing up and down the creaky ladder, tree to tree, just added to my tiredness, but I ended up with over two bushels of apples, which was way more than I needed. I picked up one of the bushels, planning to carry it over to Pierre's to sell them. So, I went over there and was stopped by Abigail.
"Hey Y/N!" she exclaimed, "You look tired. Are you alright?"
"Well besides the fact that I didn't go to bed until around 2 am," I started, "I now have a boyfriend."
"Ah, so you're still in the processing phase," she said, "That makes sense. It was a very grand gesture."
"Yeah," I chuckled, "Could you help me with these apples? I need to get them over to your dad's store."
"Yeah of course!" she agreed. We both carried the heavy bushel the rest of the way, and I ended up using the money for the rest of the ingredients, which Elizabeth and I needed anyway. Once I got home, I started on the pie. I ended up using premade pie crusts (an offense to the baking world, I know) because I didn't feel like making my own. While tossing up the filling, I called Sam. Naturally, he picked up immediately.
"Hey Sam," I started, "How are you doing?"
"Exhausted," He groaned, "Buuuut, then again, I'm going out with the prettiest person on the planet."
"Aww, you flatter me," I scoffed.
"I'm serious, you know," He shot back, "And don't even TRY to argue with me."
"Finee," I sighed, "I'm making an apple pie right now, do you want me to bring it over once it's done?"
"You know my answer, Y/N," Sam laughed, "But I'll come and pick it up. It'll save you the trouble."
"I never knew you were such a gentleman," I said.
"Only for special people," he replied.
"Oh my lord," I sighed, "You're a corny idiot."
"Only the best for my Y/N," Sam said cheekily. I felt my face heat up.
"Y-you know what?" I started. "Maybe I just won't give the pie to you!"
"Nooooooo," Sam whined, "You know how much I love your bakinggg."
"Fine, but don't be a baby about it," I sighed, "I'll let you know when it's done, alright?"
"Sounds good, see you soon!" Sam said.
"Okay, see ya," I said as I hung up the phone while putting the pie in the oven. Sometime later, my alarm went off.Y/N: pie's done
Sam: omw now
Ten minutes go by, and my favorite skater boy is knocking on my door.
"You know you can just let yourself in at this point," I say, opening the door for him.
"Okay, what happened to hi? hello? how are you?" Sam joked.
"Shut up, Sam," I smirked, "We may be dating, but you're still a dumbass."
"Oh, I'm crushed," He sighs dramatically as he pretends to faint.
"Okay then, here's your pie," I said, "Enjoy, and don't eat the entire thing by yourself."
"Thanks, babe," He smiled, pecking my cheek, "And don't worry, I won't."
"Haha, good," I replied.
"Oh?" Sam smirked, noticing my face reddening, "Is someone a little flustered?"
"Nooo.." I lied. And he picked up on it.
"You know, you're so obvious it's adorable," Sam laughed.
"Okay I think you've overstayed your welcome, Sam," I sighed as I shooed him out the door.
"You know you love me," Sam smiled.
"I don't know, do I?" I asked.
"Yes, yes you do," He replied, "See you later, Y/N. Thanks for the pie."
Holy shit he was a flirt. I need a nap. But I had to make dinner for myself, because Elizabeth was on a date with Harvey.
After my dinner for one, I decided to go on a walk. It was a chilly fall evening, so I decided to bring Sam's sweatshirt with me. I wandered around the secret woods, and the surrounding areas for about an hour, treading through the unkept brush, before making my way to town.
Pelican was very pretty at night. On my way back, I ran into Sam again.
"Hey Y/N," he started, "Long time no see."
"Yeah yeah," I sighed, "How was the pie?"
"Amazing, just like everything else you've made,"Sam smiled, "You know, I'm actually kinda glad you swang by. I've been meaning to talk to you in private."
"What about?" I asked.
"Just sneak into my room, it's getting kind of cold outside anyway," He replied. So we both climbed through his window. Good thing he's on the first floor.
"Sooo...Y/N," Sam had a slight rosiness to his cheeks, "I know that I've been avoiding talking to you about this, but I just want you to know that um...er...what I mean is...well, I'm really glad that we've started going out."
"So am I, Sam," I replied.
"So, do you really want to continue with me?" He asked, stuttering on his words.
Suddenly, we hear footsteps coming from outside his door. Sam audibly gasps has Jodi knocks on his door.
"Sam? I'm coming in!" Jodi exclaimed.
"Y/N!" Sam whispered, "Hide in my bed!" I did as he said, and his mom came in right after i threw his blankets above my head.
"What's wrong honey? Were you doing something...bad?" Jodi inquires suspiciously, "I thought I heard some weird sounds coming from your room..."
"No mom!" He exclaims, nervously trying to hide the fact that I am currently in his bed, "I was just...doing push-ups! I wanna beat Dad someday at arm wrestling, heh." Wow, great save there, Sam.
"Ohh!" Jodi giggled, "That explains why you're so red and sweaty!"
"Yeah, hehe," Sam scratches his neck.
"Okay then, good luck. I'll see you in the morning." Jodi replies as she closes his door.
"Love you, Mom," Sam smiles as he turns to me, "Jesus that was close...Y/N?"
"What's up?" I asked.
"You're not going to leave my bed, are you?" He sighed.
"Nope, I'm very comfortable right here," I replied.
"Okay then," Sam said. He then climbed into his bed, putting his arms around me, "Earlier, what I was trying to say is that, I've had feelings for you ever since I met you, and I really think we have something special, you know what I mean?"
"I couldn't agree more, Sam," I replied, ruffling his already messy hair.
"That's amazing to hear," He said.
"Not to ruin the moment, but you're a very comfortable pillow, Sam," I smiled.
"Oh why thank you," He replied, "I totally pride myself on being a good head rest."
"Anytime," I winked.
"I love being with you, and I wouldn't have it any other way," Sam sighed as he began to stroke my hair, "There, I said it."
"Well I'm glad that the feeling's mutual," I said, "You might be an idiot skater boy, but you're my idiot skater boy."
"Never in my life have I been 'my idiot skater boy', but considering it's coming from you, I don't really mind," Sam smiled as he cupped my face, "I love you Y/N."
"Oh don't worry, Sam," I started, looking directly into his warm brown eyes, "I love you too."
As he pulled me in for a kiss, the same feeling I had last night arose again. As we pulled away, I started to laugh.
"Shhh, Y/N," Sam whispered, putting his finger to my mouth, "Just so you know, there are other people in this house who are trying to sleep."
"Sorry, sorry," I chuckled, resting my head on his chest, "I can't help it, you're too cute."
"Hey!" He exclaimed quietly, "I'm the one whose supposed to be saying stuff like that!"
"Does it look like I care?" I shot back, "Plus, I'm 99% sure you liked the compliment."
"Hehe, you got me," Same said sheepishly, continuing to stroke my hair. The silence that followed was comfortable, knowing that I was in my boyfriend's arms.
"You know, Y/N?" I think I'm gonna be thinking about this night for a looong time," Sam said, kissing my forehead.
"Same here, Sam," I replied sleepily, "Same here."Sam: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
