You and me

Part 18

Y/N POV 

I am currently running my laps and I can't get my smile of my face. Every time that I run past Lizzie I make sure to steal a little kiss and when Aubrey sees this she yells that I need to do an extra five push ups. It is my last lap and I thank God that I am not tired yet because this push ups will kill me. I get back to Aubrey and see that practice has already ended. "Guys, most of you did an amazing job today. Some of you were a little distracted and I don't want that in my team. Therefore you will get a punishment so that being said, Y/N please do your push-ups now. We will all stay and watch you because I am sure that everyone will enjoy it."  

I start doing the push-ups and the first twenty are easy but then it begins to get hard. They are all cheering me on but deep down they are enjoying that I am being punished but I can't blame them because I would do the same. "You are half way. But because you rather enjoy being as close to Lizzie as you can she will now sit on your back." Is she kidding me? I am going to die. I stop the push-ups until Lizzie joins us and I sit up. When Lizzie comes to me she whispered a quick sorry. "Continue Y/N, I didn't say that you could take a break." Aubrey is really kidding me but I get back in place and Lizzie carefully sits on my back. Honestly, this is really embarrassing just because I am all sweaty and I am really tired. I hope that she doesn't think that she is heavy because I find this hard. She is quite the opposite , I don't mind doing it with her on my back but it's just the amount of push-ups. "Only ten more, if you can do this then I will consider bringing Lizzie to the next game. If you can't do it, then she will not be welcome." Who even said that she wants to come? What if I do these push-ups and she doesn't even want to come? Will she think that I force her to come? 

"Do you even want to come?" I whisper to Lizzie through my deep breaths. "What a nice way to ask me." She laughs but doesn't answer my question. I guess that she wants to come so I continue the push-ups.  It's the last one and I when it is done I let myself fall down to the floor. But with the sudden movement Lizzie also falls on top of me. I quickly turn my body around so that I am faced with Lizzie. We look at each other and just burst out laughing. "There goes the whole point of the punishment." Aubrey pulled Lizzie off me and picks me from the ground. "Sorry Aubrey." I know that Aubrey needs to teach me discipline but she also knows that I probably won't listen to her. Maybe I should take a chill pill before Aubrey gets a heart attack. "Everybody go shower and come to the meeting room so we can discuss this weekend." 

They all go to the showers but I stay a little behind so that I can say goodby to Lizzie. "I really enjoyed you being here. Thank you for coming." Lizzie gave me a little bag and I remembered that I gave her that this morning. "Were they so bad?" I panicked a little because I wanted to impress her but my panic was quickly turned to happiness when I saw her smile. "They were amazing. I just couldn't finish them so I thought that I could bring them to you so that you can eat something." She is so sweet. "Thank you. I should really go now before Aubrey loses her mind. Text me when you get home safe." I give Lizzie a quick kiss and run inside. 

After a quick shower it was time for the meeting. I really hated these type of things because I can't keep my focus. But it is apart of the job so it needs to be done. When I get there almost everyone is ready but I thank God that I am not the last one. I get seated and after some waiting the meeting starts. Basically what was said that Wednesday the team will be selected so you needed to do extra good in practice. Aubrey also said that we will play a little more in defense this weekend because this team is one of the hardest teams this season. She said some other things but my focus was gone so I didn't catch any of that. I stayed a little bit longer in the room because I wanted to call my granddad. After like the first ring he already picked up. 

Michael: finally you decide to call me. I saw the game and I got worried sick. Don't you ever do something like that again!

Y/N: I totally forgot to call you I am so sorry. It just has been so hectic around here. Honestly, I kind of overdid myself this past week but I am trying to change that. I quit my extra job so that I have more free time to take a breath. 

Michael: I didn't even know you had a second job! Why don't you ever tell me anything? I am getting worried about you. 

Y/N: I am so sorry pops but I promise that I will call you more. Aubrey has been here to help me so you don't need to worry that I am alone. 

Michael: I know that Aubrey is there because she lets me know how it goes with you. I called her after the game because you didn't even bother calling me. You know how scared I am after I lost your grandmother. 

Y/N: Please pops I know that. I am so sorry, I will do better in the future. 

Michael: I know you will. Now enough with the parenting bullshit, how is everything. Did you already make some friends. 

I instantly blush thinking about Lizzie. I think my granddad saw because I see his eyes getting bigger and almost popping out of his brain. 

Michael: You met someone special didn't you?

Y/N: Yes I did. Well I hope that she will be someone special to me but she makes me so happy you can't imagine it. 

Michael: I surely can imagine it, I had the same feeling with your grandma. 

Y/N: I am just taking little steps like you thought me because I don't want to be to pushy but I really think that she is the special one in my life. 

Michael: I am really proud of you Y/N. I hope that I can meet her one day. 

Y/N: I am sure you will. 

Michael: My friend just texted me that he is downstairs so I need to get going but please don't do anything stupid and call me when you have time. 

Y/N: I will, love you. 

Michael: Love you more. 

We end the call and I am really relieved that I heard him again. It was my own fault not calling me but I didn't have the time. Well, maybe I had time but I was just so busy with Lizzie that I didn't think about it. I will never let that happen again because my granddad means the world to me. What he said about meeting Lizzie made my day, I know that it is too fast right now but I can really see them meeting each other. When that moment gets here it will be the best day of my life. While thinking about everything going on in my life I eat the bagels that Lizzie got me. Well, I got them but it was cute that she brought me the leftovers. I get pulled out of my thought with my phone lighting up.

I can't stop smiling at the text that I get from her. The last time that I smiled at someone texts was Allison. Shit...
