"Are you sure, Emil?"

I nodded. "I would like to give it a try for a week."

Sawyer tousled my hair. "Like I said before, the owner of this cafe is a friend of my cousin. I don't know her that well, but my cousin has reassured me that the older lady is a good person who pays well for the work."

"Sounds good to me. So what will be my job here if I get accepted?"

"A server is what I was told. Do you think you can handle it?"

I nodded. "I'm good with people. I just get nervous around ones who seem to have unusual interests towards me."

Sawyer snorted. "Most people feel that way, Emil, so you'll definitely be fine. Call me if you need help."

I smiled. "Thanks, Sawyer."

He raked a hand through his white hair, then hugged my shoulders. "If you're nervous, take a few deep breaths and try to relax. Just remember who you're doing this for, but don't hesitate to come to me or Carver if something happens. Neither of us nor your daddy want you to be in a bad situation just to earn money at this place."

I returned his hug, my arms around his waist. "Thank you, really. Would you please hang out until the end of my interview?"

Sawyer readily agreed, then entered the place with me. We were both shocked by the interior and the entire theme of "Little Garden." Now the name makes sense.

This cafe was a place for people like me to work and not be troubled by age-regressing. The interior was garden-themed with soft baby-blue walls, a flowerbed painted on two walls and a vegetable garden across the others. There was a counter to order food at if people wanted instead of waiting at the round tables and booths, then the orders were served by the littles. I was witness to one young woman tripping and the customer caught the tray, gently soothing the tears of the little before they could slide down her face.

All of the customers seemed like genuinely good people based on my own gut feeling and how they were acting with the littles. The kitchen was definitely manned by people who could handle their little side unless they weren't ones at all.

Sawyer tousled my hair, then ushered me towards the older lady motioning towards us. I glanced back at him, then hurried into a separate room with the owner of Little Garden.

"You must be Emil Robertson."

I nodded with a shy smile. "Yes, although my surname will be changing in a few months."

The older lady chuckled and held out her hand. "If you decide to continue working here, you can tell me then. My name is Gertrude Garden. You may call me Mrs. Garden, Mrs. Gerty, or even Boss Lady. Whatever you like."

I couldn't help my smile as I shook her hand. "Okay, thanks."

She gestured for me to sit down in front of her desk, so I was a little nervous as she settled into her chair. I followed suit and tucked my very red hair behind my ears, fiddling with my equally natural blond highlights when I found them in the light.

"So, Emil, I heard that this would be your first job at twenty-three years of age. I won't be intrusive and ask why, but I must know if you can somewhat control your little side."

I had to shrug a bit. "I'm much better than I was over nine months ago when I first met my dominant, but I still can't fully control that side."

"That's perfectly fine. I don't expect anyone to have full control over that side because it is often a response to a stress trigger of some kind. Unless you are as cool as a cucumber and never stress, I doubt that you could completely control that side of yourself." explained Mrs. Garden, her gentle tone and accepting words making me feel less nervous.
