*About a year after the reclaiming of Shiganshina*

A soft knock on the door stirred Historia from her thoughts. She had been lost in another day dream, looking out her window at the fields of daffodils.

"Ms. Dreyse is here your Highness"

"Oh yes, send her in please, and let the kitchen staff know they can bring the tea anytime", Historia said.

"Yes ma'am"

Hitch had changed over the past 2 years. Her wavy brown hair was straighter, indicating she didn't really put much effort into styling it anymore, she really had no reason to. It had also become a bit longer. She admired how much more grown up she looked, but she knew she he reason why she didn't really try to look as made up as she used to. Same reason Historia didn't make much effort, unless it was for royal business.

Hitch came into her room. "Your majesty" she saluted her.

Historia enjoyed that Hitch still saw her as a scout first.

"Hitch I've told you please just call me Historia", she said softly.

"Well ever since I got promoted in the MP's they've been on to us about decorum, especially with the possibility of opening the island to foreign leaders", Hitch said taking a seat at the small table by the window.

"You were promoted, congratulations", even though Historia was Queen, things like this seemed to pass by her radar, especially around this time of year.

That was something else that had changed about Hitch since the scouts, what few there were, returned. She has started burying herself in her work, taking the role of an MP to be more than living a comfortable life inside the inner wall.

Historia had done the same, since she received that letter that she kept in her bedside table, and read almost every evening.

It was a few months afterwards that Historia had invited Hitch to her quarters for tea. Hitch had been confused at first, since they didn't really know each other, but over the course of the afternoon, they soon formed a kinship over lost love, and the heartache and loneliness that followed. Thought Historia considered herself lucky, for the most part her friends were still alive.

Hitch on the other hand lost several of her MP & training cadet friends to the scouts in Shiganshina, and her roommate was encased in crystal in a basement, after massacring countless scouts on Historia's first expedition outside the walls.

"Looking at the flowers again?" Hitch asked.

"Mm-hmm they were her favorite, it's odd to think a person like her would have a favorite flower".

"What are they again?"

"Daffodils, I'm going to go pick some in the next few days."

There was another soft knock at the door, "tea ma'am"

The kitchen staffer brought it a tray with tea, milk, sugar, and some scones.

"Thank you Miranda", the Queen said, and the staffer took their leave.

Historia poured the tea, the leaves were a recommendation from Levi, her former Captain. She found it amusing that she now ranked over him.

"You know I punch Corporal Levi once", Historia said.
