chapter 7

Now I am 18 years old and on my final year of high school thank god. I am still friends with Maddie and Jack and I still stay with Sarah and Jack. They are the best thing to happen to my mom and me. My mom and Ace got married not long after they met each other and she is expecting a baby any day now. I am so happy for her she looks so much happier than with my dad. I haven't seen Layton since that night when I was 14 years old. He was gone by morning and I was depressed for weeks after he left. I had the nightmares and they got worse the longer he was away. I have been using this herb that Axe found to help me sleep, it helps me sleep without dreaming and this is what I need. It wont last for long though I need something different. I have meet someone who sort of replaces Layton and his name is Max. We have been friends for a couple of months and he is really nice. I was listening to my music and reading my book during lunch under my tree when Maddie came over.

"Sup whore. What are you doing?" I smiled and pulled my headphones off.

"Reading Maddie what does it look like."

"Mhm so I heard from someone that Max asked you for dinner tonight?" I rolled my eyes

"You heard uh."

"Is it true?"

"It is. I think i'm going to go."

"I don't think that is such a good idea Rosie."

"Why not? You always say I need to date and Max is a nice guy."

"Yeah but- look I just dont think its a good idea. Why not date Sid?" I wrinkled my nose. Sid was on the football team and he has been trying to get with me since I was like 15 years old. It's just not gonna happen because he just does nothing for me, not to mention he also had a thing for Maddie and every other girl in this school.

"He's a horndog. I am not" she sighed

"Be careful Rosie. I don't like Max. Have you seen Jack?"

"What's sup you lazy bitches!" Here comes Jack I laugh. I love these guys they have become my home and my comfort place. He sat down in front of me and Maddie.

"Jack! where have you been! I have been trying to call you all day. Rosie here is going out with Max the alpha from the other pack" Jack eyes got wide. He was so cute he has green eyes and dark hair very skinny and he was just all around handsome, he was gay though....to bad I would have def dated him.

"Oh no maddie you cant do that" I rolled my eye again. It is very nice that everyone here considers me apart of this pack, really it is but when they have these stupid rules that I have to follow that I don't like it. Max is apart of another pack a small pack but its another pack and apparently I can date him for this reason. Like this is a weird rule

"Guys it's okay. I'm just going out for ice cream. It's not like I am going to mate the man."

"Might as well when a certain someone finds out." Jack said and Maddie hit his shoulder. I just stared at them I know they are hiding something from me, what I don't know but I don't like it.

"Look Rosie all we are saying is this isn't a good idea. What if he wants to take things further?" Maddie said

"That's something I can handle on my own." Then the bell ranged. I grabbed my bag and stuffed my books and headphones in my bag.

"Look guys I will be fine honest." I turned around and left. I hated when they treated me like someone a lot weaker than them. Like I cant handle myself on my own. Since the accident with my dad everyone tip toes around me like i am made of glass and I am not. That was one reason I liked Max he treated me like I was on the same level as him and not bottom tier. The rest of the day was uneventful and I was ready to go home. No one was home and I at home in the kitchen eating a apple. Axe walks into the room he was on the phone with someone.
