I smelled the smell I haven't smelled in 3 years, cedarwood and rain. I took a deep breathe I loved this smell so much. When I realized who it belonged to I shot up out of my sleep and I looked around. I was in my bedroom but he was not there.
"Oh my god you are awake! Thank the moon!" My mom yelled grabbing me in a bear hug. I looked around and saw Axe and Ace as well but no Layton. That made me sad I knew I smelled him.
"How are you feeling baby?" my mom asked?
"I am fine, just hungry." This is what happened when I use my powers to an extent or for long periods of time....well not even long periods of time. I get overly tired and sleep for days and my mom does not like it.
"You scared me. .You have been sleep for 4 days now." i shrug my shoulders.
"Sorry mom" She pressed her forehead against mine and breathed in deep. This is what she does most days since my accident when I was 7. She says she does it because it lets her know I am near and being able to smell me helps calm her so I let her do it.
"Welcome back kid. You gave us all a fright. Axe said"
"where is the guy?" I asked
"Don't worry about him I got him. You worry about getting some rest." How am I supposed to rest when I know someone is out to get me.
"Can I get some food please?"
"Oh sure honey! I'll go cook you some food right now."
"You need to rest. You have been so stressed out with Rosie not waking up that you could go into labor any min. I'll make the food. Rosie hamburgers okay?Ace asked" He takes really good care of my mom and I love him for it.
"Sure anything really."
"Good i'll be back. Frankie go rest. The doctor said not to stress." She sighed and looked at me one last time and blew me a kiss and out the door she went to Axe and Ace and I was alone again. I sighed. I wonder what Max was doing. Before I knew it someone was climbing through the window.
"Oh thank god you are awake! I thought they put you asleep or something. You scared the shit out of me Rose." It was Max. I laughed he really was a nice guy
"I am fine just really tired." I helped him climb through the window I put my finger to my lips to tell him to be quiet werewolves have amazing hearing.
"What happened to you? Why were you asleep. I had to ask Maddie where you were and I snuck here twice to see if you were awake. This is my third time you freaked me out Rosie!"
"I was tired. I haven't been sleeping well." That was not a total lie I don't sleep that well without my herb and even then I still toss and turn at night.
"Next time you give me a heads up when you are going into hibernation. I almost killed everyone here for answers." I smiled
"You missed me?" I asked putting my arms around his shoulder.
"I did and you have no idea how hard it is to crank information out of Jack and Maddie, seriously all of your secrets are safe with them."
"That is why I love them." He leaned down and gave me a kiss and I kissed him back. Now we haven't gone any further than kissing and maybe a little groping we have only been talking for about 6 months and I don't think I am his mate so yes I am a virgin. I want to save it for someone I know is worth it. Max is a great guy but I just dont think he is the one at least not yet. Then I heard someone walking up the stairs and pulled back.
"You have got to go." While pushing him out the window lord knows what Axe would say. Maddie had her boyfriend in her room once and Axe threw him out the window. Yes threw him out.
"I am glad you are okay. Text me" and he jumped down I was smiling hard. I really liked Max. Then my door opened and it was Ace.
"Dinner is ready."
"Coming."
***********************************************************************************************Everyone was at the grand table is what I call it, because not only can it hold over 40 people everyone actually likes coming here and discussing their issues like it isn't an issue. I sat down beside Maddie and Jack. She sniffed my shoulder
"You smell like Max."
"Sorry he just showed up." She rolled her eyes
"Don't say I didn't warn you. " I grabbed everything that was on the table burgers, fries, green beans, salad, they even had cupcakes! I freaking love cupcakes. I was catching up with Maddie and Jack from the last 4 days I was passed out cold. Apparently Maddie has a new "playmate of the week" and Jack is just Jack I don't think I ever saw him even talk to anyone that was gay. My mom she was still asleep she was up taking care of me for those 4 days so i am sure she is exhausted I have to make sure I thank her for that. Axe and Ace have been dealing with the bad guy that was trying to kidnap me. I figured he would Axe loves getting people talk it is what he does best other than sarcasm. After dinner I helped clean up the kitchen its the least I could do since I was out and I was wiping down the tables, everyone else had left to go home. Before I heard the voice I smelled the smell and I whipped around so fast I am sure I got whip lash. He was chest to chest with me he stood at least 2 inches taller than me and smelled of cedar wood and fresh rain.
"Why do you smell like another man?"
