a/n : I always imagined Niall writing a concerning song and all the other boys fretting over him. The scene just seemed so sweet and brotherly to me I had to write it.

Unedited.

Niall's pov:

"-heyy angel!" Liam, Harry and Louis harmonised beautifully.

Josh and the band faded the music smoothly into silence and Mark, our manager, started clapping enthusiastically.

"Well done boys! This gives off a first-song-of-the-album vibe. Do you have a name for it?" He smiled scribbling something on his notepad.

"Uh-Hey Angel? Isn't it obvious? I mean, we do say it a couple of hundred times, but I don't think that was enough for your rusty old brain. " Louis teased playfully and Mark just rolled his eyes.

I grinned at my mates," That was quite the song lads!"

Harry blushed and squeezed my hand, "Thanks baby. I wish you could've written it with us though."

I nodded, nervously glancing at the clock. Please dismiss us. Please forget.

I felt like a school boy impatiently waiting for the bell, praying that the teacher will forget to assign homework.

"Niall," Mark beamed at me.

Shit. Just my luck.

"Unfortunately you were unable to attend the last four writing sessions due to a family wedding in Ireland am I right?"

I internally rolled my eyes, of course he remembered, Mark never missed a beat.

"Uh-yeah." I could hear Louis snickering to Liam in the background and shot them a icy glare.

"And you were supposed to write two songs in those days, do you remember?"

Harry just smirked at me and moved next to the other boys, as if he was creating an audience for my soon-to-be 'performance'.

I swallowed nervously and could tell that Louis caught the action.

"Oh god Niall. I wonder how your teachers liked you! Always forgetting to do your homework."

I gave him a weak smile and spotted Harry's face immediately switch to concern.

The thing was, I didn't forget. But I kind of wish I did right now.

When writing the songs, my mind was so consumed in the words I almost wasn't concentrating on any other factors that concerned my songs. But it hit me just then, when asked to perform it, that my verses may have been a bit too...personal.

"Come on Nialler, we're only getting older here!" Liam piped up.

Clearing my throat, I realised I was zoning out.

"Yeah I did my homework, Louis!" I spat out my bandmate's name for emphasis.

"So play it for us, Niall" He mocked.

Fuck. My sorry ass was in deep, deep shit.

My hand shook as it reached out for the guitar and tuned the strings. I know for a fact that my boyfriend did not miss it's tremble.

"Uh-this is called Infinity," my fingers grazed against the strings and a slow tune spilled out of it.

My lips parted in a puff of air and I stared at my mates who all sported encouraging looks on their face.

If they only knew.

Taking a deep breath in I started.

"Down to earth, keep on falling when I know it hurts."
