It was halfway through January and luckily none of the boys had gotten sick from the little thing Race had gotten into his head to do earlier that month. All the boys had gone back to school and Spot's life had been going upwards again.
His grades had gotten better and Medda was well on her way to get full custody over him. He hadn't heard anything from his 'parents' since the day he and Medda had gotten them to sign away their rights to have custody over him.
He was in his last class for the day but since he would ride with Jack he was going to have an hour before he could leave. He decided that he was going to spend it doing his homework since that would mean he would have almost nothing to do at home, if he would get done some work now in class he would have nothing left to do at home.
But he couldn't focus on the work because his head kept wandering around. In the past few days he just kept more and more wandering back to the roses. He had been thinking if there was a logical order where they came in.
It started with the peach colored one then came blue, yellow, white, purple. After that the word 'Us' appeared after the last love. That started by the dark pink one then had came also a pink one but lighter. After that his parents had found the orange one and after that the black one had appeared on the fire escape.
And the last one had been the green rose in his bed. Which he still found a bit creepy. But it had been another sign that the one or ones that were doing this were close to him. Or they were really scary and had broken in.
But since at least someone would have noticed if that would have happened since there were at least a million people in the house at that moment.
His attention suddenly got pulled back towards the teachers as he was yelling at the class. Something about some kids that kept talking the whole time and there was another empty promise that it was their last warning and next time they would need to write something a lot of time.
Spot had learned long ago that it was one big lie that they told to try and keep the class quiet. By the time the teacher was done with yelling the bell rang signaling the end of the class and for Spot the end of the day.
He made his way over to his locker to take the books he needed to do homework and leave behind the ones where he didn't get homework from or that he had finished already. After he had done that he made his way to the canteen and sat down.
He was surprised when the next bell rang and he had actually finished most of his homework. He quickly dropped the books in his locker, only having his math book with him since he didn't understand any of it so he hadn't finished it yet, nor had he started it.
"How was school" Jack asked Spot as he arrived at the car.
"Boring" he answers sitting down in the passenger seat.
"Same for me and how were you later here than me" Jack asked as he started the car.
"I actually finished my homework for once" Spot answered.
Then a short silence followed which Jack decided to break. "So how is it going with you secret admirer" He asked in a teasing way.
"Shut up about it please" Spot asked, clearly some red on his cheeks present.
"Nice color on your cheeks matches your clothes" Jack teased further.
"Just shut up" Spot snapped a bit.
"Sorry, Sorry. I was just curious"
"Nope you're just nosy" The rest of the car ride was spent in silence, at one hand Spot was happy that Jack asked questions and wanted to help him. But on the other hand it was all getting frustrating for him and Jack asking questions didn't help at the moment.
As they arrived at home Spot quickly thanked Jack before rushing inside. He went up to his and Race's room where he as he hoped found the blonde haired boy that probaly could help him out.
"Hey Racer, how was school" Spot asked the boy who hadn't noticed him before since he was reading a book.
"It was school so not much to expect from it" Race said with a soft smile on his face as he put down the book.
"I know you're a year beneath me and all but can you maybe take a look at my math with me" Spot asked as he sat down at the desk in the room.
"Of course most things are the same, the only difference is that you need more things at the same time. At least that is most times for me" Race said as he pulled up another chair to the desk.
After thirty minutes Spot finally understood it but was still confused at the same time. But the important part was that he got all the exercises right. He didn't care about understanding any of it.
Race and Spot talked for a bit more before Medda called for dinner. That was pretty uneventful except that there was still some clear tension between Spot and Jack.
After dinner Race went to Albert for a bit so Spot had some time for himself. He went back to his room and get everything ready for the next day.
When he went to get his clothes he opened the closet door to find a rose neatly laying on top of his clothes.
'Cream roses stand for charm and thoughtfulness. While white is often regarded as a color of innocence, cream has a more subtle meaning. Cream roses symbolize charm and thoughtfulness and are the perfect way to tell someone they are on your mind. Well on our minds you certainly are right now. Love Us'
