The next days were a rush for Spot.
Medda of course agreed to take Spot in, she didn't have to think twice about that. So on December 27 they went to Spot's parents house.
"Honey if you can't handle it just tell me alright" Medda reassured Spot again.
They were going to talk with his parents one last time to hopefully just let him live there again and if they didn't agree his parents would need to fill in some documents to sign off all parental rights.
Spot preferred the later one of the two and had figured out that that was probably going to happen. Medda knocked on the door as Spot stood tall beside her.
(A/N author who want doesn't feel like writing this so skip till they leave the house)
Spot kept quiet all the way back to Medda's house. His parents had been mad at him and Medda had given them a piece of her mind. She had told them to just accept that people just loved people and that gender didn't matter in that.
In the end his parents signed away the custody over him and he was technically an orphan.
"Don't worry, I'm going to look what I can do to get you under my wing" Medda reassured the boy.
"You don't have to" Spot said he still didn't want to accept the help he definitely needed.
"I know I don't have to but I want to" Medda said as she opened the door to the house.
"Thank you miss Medda" Spot said before going upstairs to the room he and Race had been sharing for the past days. And now probably we're going to share for longer.
When Spot walked in, Race wasn't there which surprised him a bit. Race had been in his room almost the whole time Spot had been here. Not that Spot minded to have some time to himself he always had hours on a day to himself and now he had almost no time alone anymore.
He quickly came to the conclusion that Race and Albert were out together and that gave Spot some more time alone.
So he decided to just go and lay down for a minute. It was around three in the afternoon but Spot was already exhausted.
Spot shot up in his bed when he heard a loud horn.
He looked around confused and saw Albert and Race laughing at the other side of the room. Spot groaned rolling over so his back was facing the two boys.
"Why can't you two just let me sleep"
"Because dinner is ready and you have to come down" Race said making Spot turn around again.
"Then you could have woken me up another way" He said as he slowly got up and went out of bed.
"You're lucky we went with my plan, Race's idea was to throw a bucket of water on your head" Albert said as he and Race followed Spot downstairs.
"I don't know how happy I am with sharing a room with Race anymore" Spot muttered to himself.
Jack who heard this chuckled. "What did he do" He asked.
"He wanted to wake me up with a bucket of water but they decided on an air horn" Spot said as he took a seat at the table.
"Yep that's Race" Jack chuckled as Spot rolled his eyes.
After dinner Spot went back up to the room and decided to take his headphones and go listen to some music on the fire escape to maybe get a little bit of peace. He climbed out the window and heard some music playing on the roof.
He followed the stairs and as he reached the roof he saw Jack sitting on it music playing as he was doing something in his notebook.
Spot slowly went back down to the window he had climbed out just minutes before and sat down beside it. He put one of his playlists on not even caring which songs were playing as he looked at the setting sun. He guessed that is what Jack was drawing. Then his eyes chatched something, it was curled around the metal of the bar from the fire escape.
Spot slowly reached out for it and saw it was another rose. After everything that had happened in the past few days he had almost forgotten about them. He took the rose in his hand and slowly took off the note.
'Black roses stand for new beginnings. These flowers are most of the time used for grieving but sometimes we need to focus on the positive in dark or hard times. You're going to get through this if you have a lot of people around you who love you. We love you so much. Love Us'
Spot smiled, these roses never failed to do it, but they also reminded him that he was not alone. There were people around him that wanted to help him.
"Hey Spot, what do you have there" Spot looked around to see where the voice was coming from and saw that Jack was walking up to him.
"A rose" Spot said, not seeing any point in lying. And if he was completely honest he needed to talk with someone about it.
"Fancy, from who is it" Jack asked as he took a seat beside Spot.
"No idea I've been getting roses since the beginning of September. Most times two a month but this is the third and they all have notes on them and it's starting to drive me crazy" Spot said and Jack looked at him in surprise.
"What" Spot asked as he saw Jack's face.
"Sorry it's just a lot of information to process so fast, why don't you start from the beginning" Jack said calmly.
Without much thinking Spot started telling Jack what happened in the past few months. From when the first rose arrived, how his parents found out he was gay till the point where they were now.
When he finished telling Jack just let Spot be for a minute before speaking up again.
"I wish I could help you" Jack said. "I know but you can't" Spot finished.
He knew Jack, he always wanted to help people.
"So what were you making on the roof" Spot asked, trying to change the subject. And Jack happily showed him what he had made.
