Ryan quickened his steps taking a left turn down a familiar alley that lead to Gaskarth's. A diner he and his friends frequented. Without bothering to scan through the headful of people seated outside, he made his way to their 'designated' table situated by the little rose flower pot where a bright orange haired girl and a bleach blonde haired boy were seated.
"Hey guys" he smiled at them

"Hey" Hayley brightly smiled back while Pete gave a subtle nod

"Where's Brendon" he darted his eyes at the empty seat beside him

"he doesn't know we're meeting" Pete shrugged taking a sip of his drink with a bendy straw
"Okay, so what's this about?"

"About him obviously" Hayley replied with a smile

"Obviously" he mumbled with a nod "So what exactly?"

"Breakup with him already" Pete blandly replied

"What?" Ryan scoffed

"he's been sober for about three months now. It's time to call it quits"

"I don't think this is smart" he disagreed with the orange haired girl

"Can I get you anything" a waiter approached momentarily interrupting their conversation

"Oh I'll have what she's having" Ryan pointed at the cup of half eaten sundae placed before Hayley

"One sundae coming up" the waiter smiled walking away

"What do you mean 'smart'" Pete creased his brows as soon as the waiter turned away

"I really don't think three months is long enough period to check off that a person is done with drugs"

"What the hell are you talking about? Taylor was in Rehab for six weeks, flipped over the whole damn tree not just a leaf"

"I'm no rehab now am I?" he snapped at Hayley before he abruptly gave smiled as the waiter brought his order

"Well you kind of are" Hayley replied in a tiny voice "Brendon's personal rehab"

He shot her a look before shifting his attention back to Pete "What will be my reason, on what grounds will I call it quits, I mean he's been nothing short of the perfect boyfriend anyone could ask for. And I'm supposed to just tell him it's over?"

"News flash, people get dumped all the time for 'no reason', or because they are better off as friends and not the other way around"

"That phrase sounds awfully familiar" Hayley muttered to herself

"It's going to crush him"

"You think so highly of yourself don't you" Pete chortled "It's not like you guys have had sex or anything. So he's gonna survive"

Ryan exhaled staring back at Pete

"Wait" he went wide eyed "You slept with him didn't you?"

"I'm not answering that"

"That is such a guilty answer" said Hayley

"Okay I think we've gone off topic" he snapped "I mean not to state the obvious, but he is highly likely gonna go back to drugs if I break his heart"
The other two exchanged a look realizing the fault in their plan
"You know I'm right" he added for good measure leaning back to take a spoon of his sundae

"Then get him to break up with you" suggested Hayley

Pete snapped a finger at the orange haired girl nodding in agreement
