As important as school is, or rather being good at it, Kim Jennie was not the only one who preferred to devote her time to other things than her homework.
Further east in the megacity Seoul, another girl lost herself in the pages of her mystery novel. She comfortably rested her back against the backlean of her bed while she had her long, outstretched legs slightly crossed over each other.
She let her long, blond dyed hair hang open over her shoulders. It almost seemed as if her hair was lying perfectly without her trying.
Park Chaeyoung. Another 19 year old highschool girl who has a great fondness for music. Especially for guitars and piano sounds.
She tries hard in school, unlike most teenagers nowadays, and respects her elders.
You would think Chaeyoung wouldn't even hurt a fly.
But if she is trying so hard in school, why is all her attention on page 101 of her book and not on her homework?
Well, the answer is simple. Chaeyoung had already finished and correctly solved the tasks that her teacher assigned as homework in class.
It was quiet in Chaeyoung's large room which got lit up by the orange evening sun shining through the large window opposite her bed. Usually there is always some music playing in the blonde's room. Be it pop or a simple lo-fi tune, but when Chaeyoung is reading, she likes to concentrate completely on her imagination and therefore forgoes the beautiful music.
The only sound that could be heard from time to time was the turning of the pages of the thick book.
Chaeyoung's plan for tonight, Friday evening, was actually nothing special. Just her, her book, and maybe a warm cup of tea.
But her idea of a quiet, relaxed evening was about to be thwarted by someone in particular.
Chaeyoung's eyes, their brown color only made more enchanting by the orange light of the sun, glided over the printed lines of the text passage until suddenly a familiar, short ringing brought her out of her imagination.
The short sound came from nothing else than her Iphone, which she had put down on the left side of the mattress.
Chaeyoung turned her head slightly to better see which name was currently displayed on her lockscreen as she slowly lowered the book and put it down.
As soon as she realized who of her contacts had just sent her a message, the corners of her mouth turned into a small smile and she didn't hesitate for a second to text back to her best friend.
Jisoo💙
[7:02PM]
Hey Chae. I got a question which my forgetfull self forgot to ask you in school. Do you got plans for tonight?
[7:02PM]
Kinda yes, kinda no. I was thinking of making myself comfortable on my bed and read. Why?
Jisoo💙
[7:03PM]
Ah, I was just thinking, it's been a while since you and I went out. Like really out, not just chill at the Han River and drink a beer. I mean clubbing.
[7:03PM]
So you say I should ditch my comfortable, warm bed for a night of drunk people and loud music? 🤣
Jisoo💙
[7:03PM]
C'mon Chae. You love music. And clubbing, you can't deny that. I know you too well and too long for that. It'll be fun❤️🥺
Chaeyoung hesitated. She knew that Jisoo was right, that she loved going to the club and that it had been a long time since they had entered one, but despite everything, it was not easy for the blonde to decide between her bed and an evening full of excitement. She almost felt like an angel and a devil were sitting on her shoulders, constantly talking at her.
