Today, on this Wednesday, the clouds on the sky over Seoul are pretty much closing in and even veiling the city in a dense fog.
Actually the perfect description not only for the weather today, but also for the inside of Jennie's head and her mood.
The conversation, or rather her failure of last night still sat deep in her, which was visible.
Well, at least up to the point where she entered school.
From the moment her feet moved even a centimeter over the threshold of the large main entrance double door, the brunette covered her angry and at the same time frustrated persona with her actually normal, known to all attitude.
Raised chin and a sharp gaze that did not turn once to the left or right during her queen-like walk through the hallway.
But as cool and proud as Jennie appeared to the outside world and thus to all her classmates, whose eyes were basically glued to her, especially those of the females, inside Jennie was pure, burning chaos.
A rejection last night would have been humiliating enough, but to be left standing in a deserted park with a self-confidence that almost bordered on arrogance, or better said, to have been beaten with her own weapons, not only severely dented Jennie's honor and pride, but turned her entire insides into a destructive, raging inferno.
With every step she took towards her locker, scenes from last night played out before her eyes, silencing even the loudest conversations of the other students around her, which otherwise robbed Jennie of her last nerve.
"You're wasting your time Jennie. This isn't going to end like last time, as much as you want it to...or even need it"
"Bitchy or not, I'm not your property Jennie. Consequently, I don't have to spend my night at night the way you would like me to"
"So accept it. You're going home unsatisfied tonight"
The dismissive tone in Chaeyoung's voice burned into the inside walls of Jennie's skull, making him feel as if he would burst into hundreds of little splinters any second, if something or someone didn't distract her from this defeat and rejection as quickly as possible.
If that is even possible.
Some people would call the thing the brunette was just going through 'Karma' but Jennie is not superstitious.
For her, this was all just an entry into the next round of war between her and the blonde about who would first become weak for the other again.
And Jennie was not only convinced, but swore to herself that she would come out of this round with Chaeyoung as the loser underneath her.
Literally.
"Enjoy your success Chaeyoung. While you still can. Because I, I'm not done yet. Neither with you, nor with your body, nor with the way you dared to talk to me yesterday" it spoke inside Jennie's head almost with a growl, only a few moments before the brunette finally arrived at her locker, where she, like probably every other student who for whatever questionable reason had chosen biology as a free subject, had to take out her book about cells, because no sane person would carry this book around in their backpack all the time, since it had more pages than an ancient novel and thus weighed much more than a book should be allowed to weigh.
Quite a few times students had already complained about shoulder and back pain.
But what can you do?
Sue a book and demand pain money from it?
"Need a forklift?" rang out almost immediately after Jennie dropped her book into her backpack from her right, from none other than the broadly smirking Lisa Manoban, who appeared to be in an considerably better mood than Jennie.
