Also, is anyone even reading this book? I've lost interest, but I don't want to end it. I had so much planned, but if nobody is really interested anymore, I finish the last few chapters I have planned, and then I'll tell you everything had planned with imagines. If not my updates are just going to keep taking about 3 months each update. So, let me know. Because I really want to post my other books...
~Seto's POV~ (oh dam)
"Seto, you're off duty, you sleep. I'll wake you up when we need to switch positions!" I nodded and made way to my bunk. It was mandatory that I checked my phone every time before I got my quick nap in. Every month we get shipped out to the station for training, before getting sent back in. Next week was the next time I was getting shipped out.
(Haha, this is so shit, because I know this is not what happens)
Again, no message from Skylar like usual. It's been a couple weeks, but when haven't we gone a couple weeks without talking to each other? I sighed and found myself falling asleep to the gunshots like normal.
(Real peaceful, mhm)
My phone then started buzzing, which made it vibrate my blanket. I groaned and picked it up, squinting at the screen. It was a text from Becca, Mitch and a couple others. I was confused as to why they were all suddenly texting me.
"Seto, I figured now we should tell you about Skylar. A couple weeks ago she was attacked by a couple drunk college kids, and now she's in the emergency room. She was badly damaged, because they tried to drown her in the fountain. Sorry man, but she's in really bad shape. I was just letting you know in case something else happened."
I scrolled through all the messages, wondering if this was some kind of sick joke, but it wasn't. Even my mother had been added to the chat, and she was saying things about her. I ran a hand through my hair and tried to wrap my head around it.
"Send me a picture. I want to see her." I started tapping my feet impatiently. Two weeks they waited, and they just now tell me? I come back home in a little over a year, she can't be about to die!? Especially not after the wait we've been going through,
Becca started to text a response, but then it disappeared and Mitch typed instead. A picture came through and my fears were confirmed. She was hooked up to a few machines and she has a big bruise across her face.
"Oh, Skylar." I dropped my phone in my lap, placing my head in my hands. Someone else came into the tent and sat on the bunk under me. "Hey man, you alright?" I shook my head at Tim and shakily handed him my phone. "Oh..." I nodded and took my phone back, quickly shutting it off.
Why would they wait so long to tell me, and by all means only tell me when she's about to die!? I scoffed and kicked my foot out, before punching the bed post beside me.
"Woah, calm down. She's going to be fine, I'm sure..." "She's been there for two weeks, each day getting worse. And they just now decided to tell me!" "Hey, I know it looks bad. But when I left for here, those 3 years ago, my wife was in the hospital with cancer. Trust me, she's going to be fine. Just pray, and things will be fine." I sighed and nodded, once more glancing at my blank screen.
"Now come on, get some rest. She'll be better before you know it." I grabbed my phone in one hand, before plugging it in and laying on my side.
"I just hope you're right."
~Becca's POV~
"I honestly don't know what to say to you, that I haven't already. It's like you're purposely trying to find some way to sever you and Seto's relationship. Both of you. First you break up, then he leaves for 4 years, then you go and get yourself in a 2/3 week half coma. What's next? You two gonna break up again, or he's gonna get in a coma?" I sighed and started messing with my hands that were rested on the bed.
"Becca," Mitch opened the door, smiling sadly at me. "Time for class, come on." I nodded and fist bumped Skylar. "Friendship." I muttered before joining Mitch in the hall. (Dan and Phil, haha) "Don't worry. I bet she won't be asleep for more than another week." I sighed and grabbed my phone, tucking it into my back pocket.
"I just hope you're right."
~Mum~ (holy shit, what are this?)
"You said I had someone going by the same last name as me in here. How do you know they know me, when I don't know myself! I can't remember anything at all, other than right before some sort of collision. Do I have family or something?"
"Well, Mrs. Rosewood. Two weeks ago a patient was emitted to the hospital by the last name of Rosewood, and we did some samples. Turns out you two are blood related." I sat up on the uncomfortable bed, feeling pins and needles roll up my back.
"Blood related? Like-" "Like your child. Now I know you don't remember anything about your family and past, but I know you must have had one right?" I nodded slightly and the doctor came over to unhook me from my machines.
"Who is it?" "We're guessing she's your daughter, because everything lines up to be true to that." I winced as they pulled the IV out of my arm. I've been needing it ever since I got stuck in this mental institute 4/ 5 years ago. I don't remember anything at all, but knowing there was a crash, and then my last name. Otherwise, nothing else comes to mind.
"We're taking you to the hospital, we're going to try and see if you can get something back from meeting her. This may or may not work, and she could very well not even be related to you like the tests showed." I nodded and they helped lead me down to the car, and get me strapped in.
"I just hope you're right."
~Doctor~ (haha, I'm just adding random people in now.)
"By the charts, I say she should be up and running in about a week or so." I checked the other screens, making sure everything I was going over was correct, before I wrote it down.
"So what are the exact details of the incident?" One of the nurses came in and started checking her vitals. "Says here that she was forcefully held down in a fountain, and was released only to fall and land a concussion. Someone from the college found her later that night, and it's a good thing they did. She would have been worse off if it was morning."
"Alright, so low oxygen to the lungs. Minor brain damage, which can be healed within a few days. And I'm getting a new reading on her charts, from previous appointments. I'm going to turn this in to the front desk, and see if they can find anything else. But I think that's the only other things that I can find wrong."
I grabbed the chart and wrote down something, before I headed out of the room, the nurse following behind me.
"I just hope you're right."
~Who now? I don't even know, this is basically just a stupid filler chapter, which I had no intention of doing. Yay!~
(Um, actually pretend this is the end of the chapter, because I have nothing else to say, so yeah)
SO UJ YEAH, IM RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS UNTIL SETO COMES BACK HOME, SO THIS IS WHAT I COME UP WITH AT 3 IN THE MORNING, HATE ME.
HOPE YOU ENJOYED?
