"How can I help you?" asked the man, putting aside his book. "And please call me Ben," he said, smiling.

"It is about a map we found, I have a copy of it, but the places are marked in a strange language! Would you help us figure out what the words say?"

"Well, I will try to do my best!" said Mr Ben, scratching his brow. "Could you show me the map?"

"Here it is," said Mark rummaging in his trouser pocket and taking the folded map out.

Ben took it from Mark and unfolded it. Then he stared at it for a while and said, "well, it is in Latin. I can translate the words into this. Could you give me like fifteen minutes to do it?"

"Thank you so much, we will wait!" and he went and sat down. Elena went to one of the shelves and started browsing the book. There were so many. She wondered if she could take one home.

Mark got up and started browsing too. They both chose books and started reading them. Then Mark looked up and saw the librarian coming towards him. He put the book aside.

"Well, are you done?" Mark asked as the librarian came and handed him the map.

"All done!" said Ben and added, "I've written down the translations just under the Latin words!"

"Thank you so much," said Mark and Elena together. "Could we borrow books?"

"You will have to register for the library card first," said Ben, adjusting his spectacles.

"We will. The next time we are here, here are the books we've been reading. Should we put it back, or should we hand it over to you?"

"Just hand it over to me," said Ben, stretching out his hand. Elena and Mark handed their books to the librarian. They walked to the bus stand out of the door.

They went to the bus and waited for the bus. They didn't have to wait, and they saw a bus coming down the road. Mark and Elena got into it.

Soon they were back at Mark's house. They ran back to the shed and shut the door behind them. Then Mark took out the map, and both of them poured over it.

"These are the stones I saw!" said Elena, who read the translation. She recognised it immediately. There is an x on the map. "I wonder what that means?"

"Maybe we should go and check it out?" asked Mark after studying the map for some time. "I can take you on my bike!"

"But I have never ridden on the back of a bicycle."

"Dad's it's my dad's, but he allows me to use it as well. Come on. It'll be fun! Besides, don't you want to find out why there is a cross here?"

Mean sell, alright," said Elena, finally making up her mind. "Let's go!"

Mark went out and got the bicycle and helped Elena climb onto the back. "Just hold on to me, don't worry, I'll make sure that you don't fall or get hurt."

"Alright then," said Elena and they set off from the back gate and rode down the filed road. The breeze was refreshing and cool. The breeze ruffled their hair as they rode on towards the stones.

When they arrived to the area the stones were, Mark stood until Elena hopped off and put the bicycle aside. Then he got out the map. The cross was right in the middle of the stones. Then they went to the centre of the area surrounded by stones. But there was nothing unusual about the place. The ground was covered by heather. Then they heard voices. They looked and saw a tall man wearing sunglasses approaching from the forest.

"I don't like the look of him," said Mark, come one get on to the bike, quick.

The man shouted for them to stop. But Elena had already hopped onto the bicycle, and Mark was pedalling for his dear life. The man kept yelling at them to come back, but soon. His voice faded into the distance. Mark didn't stop until they reached home.
