"Whoa, wait," I sigh. "We're doing what now?"

"We're playing a school dance? Sweet!" Reggie smiled.

It's been a few days since I told Reggie the truth about everything. I still felt horrible that I haven't told Alex or Luke, but I'm glad that someone knows; and that someone just so happens to be Reggie. The guy who I've had a crush on for years, but was too afraid to admit it. The guy who somehow brings a smile to my face, even if that wasn't his intention. The guy who lost my gerbil when we were twelve, the guy who sends flirty winks my way when we play a set, the guy who gives me butterflies with just a single glance. The guy who I've known since I was ten. The guy who knows my secrets, who comforts me when I'm upset, even if he is the one who caused it. I've never felt more secure in knowing that I've opened up a bit more and let people in, and I'm glad that Reggie was one of the first people to be welcomed in. This was my first step, and there's no way I was stopping now.

Anyway, Julie just go home from school. She smiled wide as she gave us news of our first gig. I couldn't believe it, I mean, people were talking about us ever since that stunt to get Julie back into her music program. They wanted to see us perform. They actually liked us.

"Yeah!" Julie replied happily, "We're actually gonna perform."

"It's not exactly the Strip," Luke shrugged.

"And you're not exactly alive," Reggie smirked, wrapping an arm around my shoulder, "so you should be happy
we have our first gig."

"C'mon Luke," I smile, "I think this could be pretty cool. People are talking about us, they want to hear us again."

"Look," Julie started, "I wasn't in love with the idea at first either, but it could be a great way for us to build a following, right?"

"Yeah. Yeah. We need to play wherever we can, whenever we can," Luke sighed. "No, you're right. Let's rock those kids' faces off and then play the clubs," he ended with a smile.

"And then record a single that gets a billion streams?" Julie added excitedly.

"I don't know what that is, but hopefully
it gets us a manager," Luke replied enthusiatically.

"And a tour with millions of fans screaming our names," I laugh, releasing from Reggie's grip.

"Then we release a bunch of hit albums," Julie adds.

"Put out a country album that does surprisingly well," Reggie suggested, earning a stare from each of us. I smiled knowing Reggie always had a soft spot for country. I bought him What's It To You by Clay Walker on cassette for his 16th birthday. He made me listen to the entire album, with his added commentary, slowly recruiting me to become a small fan. I'm just saying, country music hits hard when you're walking down the street at night. Country gets a bad rap; don't knock it 'til you try it.

"I shred on the banjo, so..." Reggie trailed off.

"Then I'll learn how to fiddle," Luke smiled encouragingly.

"And I'll get a harmonica," I add.

"And before you know it, we're being inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame," Luke announced.

"But one of us isn't there," Reggie warns.

"Because we had a blowout in 2032," I explain, rejoining at him at his side.

"My money's on Alex," Reggie nods. "He's so sensitive."

"What are we waiting for? Let's get rehearsing!" Luke smiled, reaching for his guitar.
