100 Days in a zombie apocalypse

DAY 4

Milana

While Neon and Vaida were making their way to Oliwia, Milana has yet to find out what's coming for her.

I was sitting in my living room, eating McDonalds while watching my favourite Netflix series before my power completely went off, my mouth still full of the double cheeseburger I decided to eat for breakfast, I didn't even manage to leave my home to go to school before I try to call my mom to tell her to buy more electricity... no answer, 

"Oh well, she's still out with her friends anyway, I'll just leave her a message and get going."

I finish off whatever food was left from my McDonalds meal before getting ready to leave for school, I put on my shoes, coat, take my bag and just as I was about to leave a big explosion could be heard not far from my house, followed by the rapid sound of blades, a helicopter? That exact second I got a text from my mom, telling me to stay home and not leave before she went offline again, I tried to get some answers from her but she wasn't replying. I took off my shoes and made sure to lock the front and back door, just what was going on?

'' Great, I'll have to sit this out without any electricity... well at least I ate my breakfast, it should keep me going till dinner''

I say to myself as I take off my shoes, so much for going to school. Going back up to my room, dragging my bag behind me I can't help but think what all of this was about, I'm not going to lie but I'm slightly worried, my mom usually doesn't just disappear like that when texting but perhaps she just has a very busy day today out with her girlfriends. Luckly, I had plenty of art homework to finish by tomorrow so I simply took my art pack and got to it, after all the art teacher is kind of scary, wouldn't want to make her angry.

By the time I realize I've been sitting by my desk for the past 3 hours I decide to text my mom again.

'Hey mom, everything good? What was all that earlier about?'

I ask, waiting for an answer... nothing, just what was going on? At this point I'm starting to panic, was I overreacting? Probably, but what if this was way more serious? but my thought was cut straight in half by the sound of shattering glass followed by a loud ass scream, Jesus did my Neighbour see a ghost or something?

I quickly rush over to my bedroom window, I could see straight into her back garden, is that a trail of blood? It led to the broken kitchen door that was made out of glass, did someone break in? I reach for my phone to call the police, surely my house was next not to mention I'm not going to just sit around and let someone hurt my Neighbour, she's a sweet lady and doesn't deserve whatever is happening to her now. I dial 911... no signal? What do you mean no signal? And just like that I noticed more... People? Slowly walking into my Neighbours house through the broken door, the people looked mindless, like they were sleepwalking... and... dirty? Whatever it was I wasn't going to risk my life out there, maybe it was some gang? But that didn't matter right now, I rush downstairs and make sure both of my front and back doors are locked, I proceed to pull the blinds down on every window and decide to wait it out in my bathroom, locking myself in it with a couple water bottles and whatever food I managed to grab on the way

"Everything will be okay, I just need to wait for the signal to come back, I'll contact my mom and Everything will be okay"

Vaida and neon

"Good thing that house caught fire and exploded, if that didn't happen they would break into the car for sure"

Neon said as she drove her mom's car, the windows were cracked, the windshield wipers were completely ripped off so it's not like Neon could clean the windscreen which made it difficult to see whatever was on the road so vaida took it upon herself to roll down her window and peep her head out to warn neon of any dangers ahead.

"Careful, many cars on the road"

Vaida warned, Neon simply noded her head in agreement. What was once a lively town became the exact opposite, it was weird seeing the empty roads, the blood everywhere, the cars parked randomly,  it really showed that whatever happened here was chaotic,  very chaotic.

"Keep it up vaida, we're nearly at Oliwia's"

As Neon drove slowly through the wrecked town vaida tapped her on the shoulder.

"Stop..stop the car"

Neon did as told, wanting to know what was up.

"What's wrong?"

She asked the other.

"Take a look for yourself.."

Vaida said, fear could be heard in her voice, as Neon rolled down her window she was left with no words, the road was cut off by a bunch of those mindless people, there had to be at least 200 of them, there is no way they could force their way through them, especially with a car that's not in the best condition, vaida and neon though it would be safe to assume that they were in fact zombies, Neon slowly and quietly backed out the car, there were many ways to oliwia's house, they just needed to find the safest one.
