We're about half way back, been driving for good 40 minutes. Milana is in a better shape now that we gave her some more food and water. With a similar situation to all of ours she hasn't heard anything from her parents either, we just hope that they got rescued or at least somewhere safe.

"We should start looking around for more supplies"

I propose, it was only a matter of time before we run out of food and water, there were 5 of us and only so much food can be shared between us until we completely run out, it's a good thing that I live right beside a big shopping mall, you could argue that its a shitty place to be at, especially since there would be a shit ton of zombies especially inside a shopping mall but at a time like this you had to take risks, do whatever it takes, we've managed to survive nearly a whole week, honestly we were expecting to be the first ones to die, so the fact that we lived so long has to be a sign that we have to keep going.

"Maybe after we find better weapons?"

Neon said as she kept her eyes on the road, she took over after Mike's drove over a zombie which caused the car to spiral out of control and nearly hit a wall.

"I mean what better can we find?"

Vaida asked, me nodding in agreement

"This isn't America, it's not like we can go out and get a bunch of guns, we'll just have to upgrade the ones we have now"

I say, as neon hummed.

"Hmm, you're right,  what we have is as good as it gets, I don't know maybe we'll come across a zombie-fied police officer and steal a gun from them?"

"Very unlikely we come across one in the first place, but good idea over all we should keep a look out for anyone in uniform"

I said as the car fell silent again before we all heard a boom followed by a small vibration that blasted through the car, the screeching tires rubbed against the hot road leaving black marks behind as the car came to a stop, good thing it didn't roll over or anything... maybe we should start wearing seat belts from now on.

"Darn it! Don't tell me that was the tires"

I said as I got out of the car to inspect what happened and indeed it was the tire that just popped, out of all the times it could've done that it happened now, when there are flesh eating monsters running around and we have nothing better but a couple of knifes and a bat, including milana who's completely unarmed.

"Right, the small explosion could possibly attract any zombies near by, we should get a move on, just stay close and keep walking "

I say as they all get out of the car, vaida holding the pe bag which still had extra water and food, good thing we decided to bring extras, yes it's around a 1h walk on foot if you're fast but you never know what might happen, especially with the fact that the sun will be setting soon.

"Alright we have about 3-ish  hours of light left today, we should hurry up, home isn't far"

I say as I begin to walk  the others sticking closely near by.

_________________________________________

It's been about 50 minutes and I feel like we've barely made any progress, it's warm and we don't want to drink too much of the water so it's safe to say we're either dehydrated or close to dehydration.

"Ughhhhh, how much longer do we havee"

Miles said, already dragging their feet behind us.

"It's been only 50 minutes, if we keep this pace up we'll take all night to get home, come on pick up the pace"

I say, letting out a sigh.

"Well it's not my fault the car broke down"

Miles said back, I let out a groan,  not only was I sweating a river but now this is leading to an argument.

"I never said it was your fault, it was no ones fault in fact, things like this always happen it's not like Neon could spot whatever it was that popped the tire, probably a small rock, we just got unlucky is all"

I said, hoping that this would be the end of our bickering.

We now were entering a town, good we were getting close.

Miles was about to say something but I cut them off not wanting to continue this any further, we were all annoyed, thirsty and hot, we didn't need to waste our breath on useless arguments.

"Right we're entering a town, keep a look out for any dangers"

Entering a town especially in this situation when there are the most zombies around wasn't the smartest idea, but we couldn't go around it, yes the town wasn't big, but it was big enough to cost us an extra 30 minutes, and at this pace probably an hour so we went right through it.

The virus is new, therefore zombies would most likely still be around the area they were infected in, like I said before this town wasn't small so we needed to be extra careful. We used the scattered cars as a way to shield us from the view of the zombies, running from one car to another, keeping our heads low, the good thing about this town was the fact that you could just walk in a straight line right through it from one end to another and that's the path we took, if we did end up getting chased we could just run out in a straight line, but for now we kept low.

If only we could hot wire a car, do something to just hop in and take whatever, like they usually did in movies, but let's be honest,  we're a bunch of 15-16 year olds, we have a higher chance finding good quality untouched food in the dumpster than managing to make a car work by playing around with it's wires, I do have a van which would come in handy, however my step father had the keys of it on him when he left so until we figure out how to do that we can't use it.

As we were getting closer and closer to the end of the town we picked up the pace, having to look behind us every 2 minutes made us feel paranoid,  the quicker we could get out of this ghost town the better. But the real question is, why was there no military to save the living? Why weren't they coming? Was the military already dead? Did they have no plan? So many questions yet no answers.
