100 Days in a zombie apocalypse

We were about to leave the town, we could already see the runabout that had a big welcome sign only to notice that it was littered with zombies.

"Danr it"

I mumble to myself as I kneel down so that none notice us, the others doing the same.

"So what now? There are too many there, yea we can take them down but we're kinda useless right now when it comes to like over 30 of them"

Milana said, it was understandable that she was more nervous about this than we were, after all she was the only one without a weapon.

I let out a sigh, trying to think of something.

"Maybe we could go around? I know it's a bit risky going in to the forest surrounding this area... who knows if the zombies spread?"

I say, it was more of a question to get the others opinion tho, yes it's better to go around them rather than straight through them, it was a risk yes but let's be honest, just existing right now is a risk in itself, you only live once... well twice since you end up as a zombie anyway, but I'd rather survive and stay dead instead of surviving and coming back as a zombie, so we will live until a cure is made.

"I think we have a better shot going around, we'd be shielded by the trees, if we stay close and not lose one another n' walk in a fast pace we might make it before it gets dark"

Neon said, it was nice having others that are sane, I just hope it stays that way.

I and the rest of us nod.

"We keeping the same formation?"

Vaida asks

"Yes, neon watch our back, I will lead us through the forest, vaida and Miles u two are in charge of protecting milana if something happens, if we get separated just run straight home without looking back...no matter what happens"

I said, taking in a deep breath I zipped up my mouth to indicate that we need to stay quiet, the others copying me as a way of saying they won't make noise and with that we were off.

Crouching behind cars we quickly made our way to the forest, our shoes crunching the leaves underneath our weight, now that we were completely silent it felt like no matter what we did was loud, we were scared that the smallest sound would attract the dead bunch, we didn't feel like running home so we wanted to keep the attention off of us.

We used the trees as a way to keep ourself out of sight, we encountered a few zombies, we took some of them down with a quick swing at the head, some just didn't notice us so we kept moving, we really didn't want any unwanted attention.

It's been about 15 minutes, as time went by we noticed fewer and fewer zombies so we made the decision to leave the forest,  other than the zombies, wild animals were also some what of a danger and we didn't want to meet an angry zombie bear so now that the undead was far behind we were back to walking on the highway.

"That was probably more stressful than our chemistry exam"

I said, trying to lighten the mood, all except for Mile's did science and we happen to share the same opinion on it, I remember I'd always tell them how frustrating it was.

"Don't get me started on chemistry, one good thing about this is that school doesn't exist anymore"

We all chuckle as neon replied,  it was nice being able to laugh in a situation like this. We kept walking and another 5 minutes later I suddenly stop, the others bumping in to me.
