After finally leaving Musashi's shrine, you had to make two pit stops at Draken's and Mikey's places so they could change out of their uniform. But both of them came out with a backpack filled with personal care items, claiming it was late and that they might as well sleep over.

You just know they collectively agreed to this plan by the satisfied smiles on their faces after you gave in and said it was okay.

Now the three of you sit at your kitchen table that has six chairs in total. one chair at each end, and two chairs on the longways sides'. You and Mikey occupy the left side of the table - closest to the kitchen - while Draken sits across from you.

"I got this in the mail, owner said it's been there since yesterday morning" you say, sliding over the envelope in Draken's direction.

It was already torn open, and he noticed how the letters after your first name was crossed out in black sharpie. Though, he paid no mind to it and pulled out the line paper.

"Jesus, this is long" he mumbles, using his other hand to raise his drink to his lips.

"Is it from your mom?" Mikey asked.

You realized it was going to be a long night the second they got their bags, so you decided you might as well give Mikey a run down. "Yeah" you nod. "I stopped reading when she started talking about how much she missed me"

"If she misses you so much, why did she leave?"

Knowing Draken is gonna read the entire essay, you give your full attention to Mikey. "Still don't know. I'm just aware she left me and my dad when I was six" you inform.

"Six?! That was just about four years before we met" he says, making you smile at his remembrance.

"Two years later he married my step-mom. Still, I felt as if I lost both of my biological parents. My dad wasn't the same after the divorce and marriage, sometimes I think he forgot he wasn't a kid anymore and had one himself" you scoff.

"What about your step-mom?"

You quirk an eyebrow at him, "I was sure I told you about her. She was a very kind lady, almost like an angel. She treated me as if I was her real daughter, always taking me out to do something" you softly smile. "I don't understand how someone like my dad could get someone like her, but I guess it was just fate"

Mikey tilts his head, noticing how you constantly praise this woman. He only really knew of your brother, nowadays you never really speak about him. And it was totally understandable! Even someone like Mikey would never bring up the topic unless you did first.

"Shit" Draken runs a hand over his face and he places down the letter. "You didn't read the second half?"

You shake your head, picking the paper up and adjusting yourself so you're sitting up straight.
