Yasuko's POV

I took Avery out to a seculid restaurant as our 6 months anniversary. We were sti being followed around by the press. Mum Korra got me an interview on the radio and in the paper saying how Avery and I met and that's why I visited the bar so much.

The papers found new things to talk about, but still wanted to report on my mums lives and mine. Mom Asami moved me into a higher security building to work in on my designs and tinkering but I was still bonbarded at the gate.

"I hope you like it here. It was actually where my mums had their 6 months too. I'm not very creative with date ideas." I rambled which made Avery smile. They were always so sweet and understanding. I always feel so bad that the media has been so unkind to them.

Most of it was the usual, in for the money, only a game for shame, comments but some articles refused to use their correct pronouns it pissed me off and I could tell they felt uncomfortable reading it, even if it was a good article.

"This place is lovely." Avery said as they took my hand in their's. We carried on eating our dinner whilst holding hands. Most of the people in the restaurant were also fanmous which meant they didn't care about us but Avery was boucing in their chair when they saw Uncle Bolin. Avery was a huge fan of his movers. But I haven't told them that I know him yet. "Why don't I introduce you?" I said smiling. They shook their head. "No that's rude. Do you even know him well?"

I chuckled and got up holding my girlfriend's hand as we walked towards Uncle Bolin. "Hey Uncle Bolin!" I said beaming. "Omg. Yasuko! I haven't seen you in forever! I heard you have a girlfriend now! Wait is this them?!" I hugged my uncle and he smiled at Avery. "Uncle I would like you to meet my girlfriend and your biggest fan. Avery."

Bolin squealed. "Hi Avery, it's so nice to meet you, I was trying to arrage a day to meet you at Korra and Asami's house but I'm just so happy that my baby is happy!" He shook Avery's hand was to fast I was scared he would break her wrist.

Avery didn't say anything for a while and then looked to me. "Your uncle is Nuktuk?! And you didn't tell me?!" They half laughed. So I laughed and Uncle Bolin said. "Yep. I have been like a father to Yasuko since Asami and Opal had our first borns around a week from eachother, we spent a lot of time at their masion learning how to be parents together."

Avery awed at Uncle Bolin's story. "Is Jade around? I haven't seen her since she left for police training." I asked, a little excited. "Sorry kiddo, no. But she's going to have a week of next week if you want we can all come up to the masion and have some good old family time?" He said.

I nodded excitedly. "Yes! I'll ask my mums first but I'm sure they can make time to see our family." Uncle Bolin smiled and we left him to our meals.

A week later.

Korra's POV

Avery came over to join our family gathering, to meet everyone. They showed up first so that Yasuko could introduce people as they came through the door.

Avery is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. They are so sweet with my baby and remind me of myself when Asami and I started dating. I was always scared to touch her to aggressivly. I looked to my daughter ans smiled as she showed Avery around a bit before the rest of the family came in.

Yasuko introduced Avery to each person as they came in and welcomed them with open arms. Bolin told me that Avery was a big gan of his movers which made me and Asami chuckle.

Once everyone was settled in I entered the kitchen to help Asami finish making the food. I kissed her check and took over the sandwich making part as Asami moved to put crisps into bowls. "Avery seems to be doing well. I'm gald they feel comfortable already." I said smiling to my wife. "Yes, and they look so cute together. They hold hands and cuddle eachother, it's so precious."

I smiled and finished up the last sandwich as Asami picked up a few bowls to bring over to the table where all the food would be layed out. I carried over a few things with my air bending which made me wonder. "Has Yasuko been water bending as much?" I asked Asami which made her pause and think. "No I don't think so, she hasn't really used it as much as you have needed to. She's not in the Avatar business my love." Asami said as she kissed my head.

I crossed my arms and thought. Is Avery a bender? Asami called for food and everyone piled in to grab a plate. I waited till the crowd died down and then grabbed my plate. I then entered the living room to see Yasuko and Jade sparing without their bending. I was thankful since they are in the living room but it hurt a little to not see them bend. I sat next to Bolin and asked. "Has Jade stopped bending too?" Bolin looked to me and smiled. "Oh Korra don't worry it's just because Jade has been training in not being over reliant on her bending, you never know if we will have another Amon. The police force would need to be able to handle themselves. It also works for if they are in a room with no, earth, lava, sand or metal." I nodded it made a lot of sense.

But then I thought about Yasuko and asked. "Why would Yasuko be doing it then?" Bolin swallowed dome crisps and said. "Maybe she enjoys nonbending fighting." I looked towards Avery. They were watching my girls very closely. I moved over to them and asked. "So Avery do you have any bending?" Avery didn't look at me when she answered. "No, but there was no chance really, my parents were both non benders."

I nodded and asked. "Have you seen Yasuko bend?" Avery nodded and answered. "Yes, but only to move water around really, did in some training at my place a while back, it was so beautiful, watching her was like watching a ballet." I smiled, happy for multiple reasons. One that Avery loves my daughter so much and two because Yasuko is still bending.

The girls finished up and Yasuko came over and sat on Yasuko's lap. "Hey Mum." She said smiling brightly before taking some food from her plate that was on the table next to the sofa Avery had been watching from, Avery's was there too their plate was almost finished.

Yasuko's pov

My Mum is great but she always worries about me a little too much, I spared with Avery without bending because that was her training right now and Mum Korra doesn't seem to be too happy with it. I looked to her when she asked. "So Yasuko want to do some Water Benders' Yoga with me after the party? We haven't done any since you got your job."

A/N
