his eyes

Two weeks have passed since their awkward lunch date, and Yoongi can't help but feel guilty.

Awkward, because neither of them knew what to talk about, so they just sat in silence the whole freaking time. It made Yoongi overthink things again, and he feels guilty because... well... Yoongi hates himself. Wait, no - not himself, but his feelings.

Yoongi hates that he can't seem to keep his promise to the younger. The promise of not looking at him that way.

Yet here he is, watching Jimin with heart eyes while the blonde excitedly talks about his upcoming dance recital. Yoongi just can't help it! Jimin is so freaking beautiful when he's happy, who wouldn't stare?

He doesn't notice his own gummy smile showing while Jimin impersonates his dance instructor, and he sure as hell doesn't notice that they've already reached the main building.

Jimin happily says goodbye, which - to nobody's surprise - kills Yoongi's mood immediately.

He has to go to work which he really doesn't want to. But he needs the extra money. His mom called yesterday, reminding him of the things that really matter. The real world.

Yoongi's mind wanders off to Jimin who noticed his gloomy face this morning, and how he's been trying to lift the older's mood ever since.

While getting off the bus, he decides to finally open his eyes to the possibility that maybe not everything the real world has to offer has to have to do with money...

It's nothing new that both roommates spend every freaking second together ever since Jimin broke up with Eunbi, but Jimin has literally been clinging to Yoongi these past couple of days!

Not that the older would mind, but apparently he's not the only one that's noticed. It's just...

It's the stares. The stares that tell Yoongi to stay away.

People keep staring at them as soon as they see Jimin giggling along or even just walking next to Yoongi.

Tch, of course they would. Why would a hot popular guy like Jimin voluntarily spend time with the weirdo - the fag.

Ugh, he can't believe he even gives a fuck, but he knows Jimin will. Once the younger realizes how close they've become over the past two weeks, he'll feel disgusted because of what people might assume.

Jimin wouldn't know what it feels like to be called a fag. At least not entirely. That little fluffball owns more empathy than most of the girls Yoongi knows. Even more than his own mom.

Yoongi hasn't heard that word in a very long time, but somehow he still remembers the effect it had on him. That word alone made him feel anxious, worthless, ugly. He felt ashamed of himself. His mother always told him to not care, that their words were only said to cause harm. Yet, they fulfilled their purpose.

Gosh, Jimin is like a freaking mind reader when it comes to feelings, and he's so sensitive as well, he can't imagine how broken the younger would be when people started calling him that.

Yoongi knows he should tune it down, he knows it.

Later that day, after he finished work and went to one of his classes, he finally gets to walk home, listening to music through his headphones. His mind has been racing around Jimin the whole time.
