roommates and safespots

Shit!

It's happening again.

Min Yoongi came home frustrated and fucking exhausted because he's had a bad day, like a really bad day. His co-workers were yelling at him constantly for literally no reason, and his teacher humiliated him - yet again - in front of everybody by pointing out his mistakes and saying "wHY evEn boThEr ComiNG HeRe iF yoU Don'T EveN PuT aN eFfoRt iN yoUr sTUdiEs?"

Asshole.

He wanted to just throw his bag into the corner of his shared dorm room and dive straight into his matress.

Well, it's safe to say that didn't happen. Why? Because of Park Jimin

Park Jimin has been Min Yoongi's roommate for 2 years now.

They first met when Yoongi's former roommate demanded to change rooms, saying he didn't like the way Yoongi's depressed attitude takes its toll on him, too... apart from swearing like a pig - that is, if Yoongi ever talked to him at all.

So he ended up getting a new roommate - a freshman - who's two years younger and about 4 inches shorter than him. And when the newby arrived with his oh so expensive-looking suitcases and a mother and father who both cried at the mere thought of sending their beloved son off to college, he thought that Jimin was just one of those noisy rich kids with too much money to spend and too many opinions to share.

But, oh boy, was he wrong!

Today, Yoongi would describe him as one of the most attractive people in the world - in more than just one way. Jimin is beautiful inside and out, one of the most caring, soft-hearted people ever. And sadly one of the most naive people as well...

Anyways, Jimin became Yoongi's "person". The one who just knows when he feels like shit and comforts him without even thinking twice. He became Yoongi's safespot, his home so-to-speak, although the older never figured out why Jimin even cares so much. But then again... he cares for everyone... that's just who he is.

He's the one in his group of friends that makes sure that everyone feels happy and accepted for who they are and what they feel.

Back then, when they were living together for like three weeks, Yoongi had one of his panic attacks, and somehow Jimin managed to calm him down within seconds.

And ever since then, Yoongi promised, he'd be Jimin's "person", too.

He is currently having one of his meltdowns, though. One of his Park-Jimin-meltdowns to be exact.

His best friend left for dance class again, but not without leaving Yoongi another one of his cute sticky notes on the fridge, saying he'd be back in the morning and that Yoongi shouldn't wait up like he always does. He would be staying with his girlfriend after practice, probably doing the dirties while Yoongi would be left alone again.

To say Yoongi hates Jimin's girlfriend would be an understatement.

She's one of those cheerleaders that only hook up with popular guys for the benefit of being able to hook up with more guys after they break up. And even though Yoongi already pointed that out to him, Jimin still insists on her being genuinely in love with him.

Ugh, that stupid bitch.

On the other hand, Park Jimin means the world to Min Yoongi, so he'll just be there when everything falls apart. Not that it'll make a difference, though. Park Jimin is the straightest person out there, so whatever Yoongi does, it won't even be recognized as anything else than comforting his best friend.

But Jimin's the only reason that keeps Yoongi going these days... he's the only person who actually cares for him despite his weird and cold exterior. So it's safe to say that Yoongi would do anything to keep Jimin happy.

Even if it means tolerating that poor excuse of a human being.

You know, Yoongi never had it easy. His dad died when he was only 13 years old, and ever since then, his mother struggled to place food on the table, causing him to find a part-time job at the legal age of 14 while still going to school. He never had any friends, and actually didn't even put any effort into trying to make friends, for he only wanted him and his mother to survive.

When Yoongi finally graduated three years ago, his mom made him join one of Seoul's Community Colleges, saying he should be investing in a good education to provide him with a good enough job instead of persueing some stupid music career.

Yoongi has never been fond of studying. He has never been good at it anyways. He's good at writing lyrics, rapping in the showers and even attending some underground battles that he surprisingly won a couple of times.

But that doesn't mean anything, now, so it's whatever. His mother wants him to survive and he wants her to be proud of him. He just wants her to be happy.

So he applied for that damn college and miraculously got in.

His mom found another job, a better job, and moved to Japan right before his first semester started to support him by covering his college fees. But they wouldn't cover any of his living expenses or materials for classes.

So he had to apply for a part-time job yet again. Only this time, he chose to apply to various music production companies until one eventually took him in. He doesn't have much to do with music itself, though. He's just the coffee guy. His job is to run errands and getting yelled at by self-loathing employees.

But that's alright, Yoongi thinks. He somehow feels good about being able to work in the music industry. It  lifts up his mood, no matter how shitty his job actually is.

Well, but that doesn't help him now, does it?

He just feels so stupid! So useless and... sad.

What usually helps, is the person that causes his meltdown in the first place: Jimin. The younger male never once left his side when times got rough, not even when he literally begged for Jimin to just leave him alone while laying on his bed crying his soul out.

But whatever Yoongi'd say, Jimin's reply is and has always been the same:

"But you're not alone. And everybody needs a shoulder to cry on. I just happen to be yours, and you just happen to be mine."

Fuck you, Park Jimin. #

Why do you keep doing this to me? If I'm not alone, where the hell are you now?
