When leaving on missions, Lloyd now ensured that he checked in with Autumn as well as had installed an alarm that she could trigger if anything happened whilst he was gone. He was still fuming with Denny, and his so called 'friend' wouldn't have his balls or his life right now if it hadn't been for her words.

No.

For once, he was biding his time. Denny could have his cake, and Lloyd would ensure that he would be choking on it.

He'd arrived home during the early hours of that morning, Autumn in bed asleep as he got in. She looked peaceful enough and he slung his arm over her as he drifted off. When he woke, she was gone, most likely in the kitchen as always, preparing breakfast. The smell and sizzling noise indicating that she was indeed.

"Smells good sweetheart". He said as he walked in and kissed her, before settling himself at the table.

She set herself down next to him and buttered some toast, biting into it delicately. "I hear there are some new wives that are joining us?"

"There are". He confirmed, cutting into his bacon. "They'll all be looking to you for guidance sweetheart, I just hope that we won't have to shoot any upon arrival".

"I am sure that they know what's best for them. If not then it will be made clear, like it was to me..." She said, now taking a sip of her orange juice. "I'd best get the paper". Rising, she ventured out to the path where the paper was lying on it and took it in to him.

Lloyd looked at her. "You alright?" He asked, noting how she'd been a little quieter than usual.

Autumn settled back in her chair and looked at her plate. "I'm pregnant Lloyd..."

The clatter of his cutlery upon the plate signalled his shock as he now stared at her. "Auty...did you just say..."

She now looked up and nodded with a small smile. "I saw Doctor Emerson while you were away, he confirmed it..."

"Oh sweet pea" He shook his head slowly with a smile and got up, now kneeling beside her chair and taking her hand, giving it a small kiss. "My clever Autumn Leaf!"

She laughed lightly. "So you will forgive me if I seem a little tired. I'm currently nauseous".

He leant in and kissed her. "Now this...this is what we want, the future of Eutopia inside of you. I knew you could do it pumpkin".

Autumn was still trying to wrap her head around the news. She knew she should be happy, and she was - but only that she'd finally pleased Lloyd. That being said, she felt no connection as such to the baby that was now growing inside her and felt bad about that. Her plans had never really included a child - not yet at least. She'd always put her job first and would admit that she had been content as of late with it just being her and Lloyd, though she never thought that she'd say it.

She hoped that in time she'd come to feel something positive at least, but right now? It just felt like something to tick off the list.

"Rubbing this in Denny's face will be something". He smirked and got up, going back to sit on his chair and continue to eat his breakfast. "Did Emerson give you more vitamins to take?"

"It's fine, I'm being well cared for".

"You're gonna have the best care possible, I'll make sure of that. I'll even get you a live in doctor to keep an eye on you if..."

"No". She half laughed. "I don't need anyone else living here. Just us for now is fine enough".

Lloyd's phone rang and he looked at her a little guiltily. "Gotta go to work sweet pea, you eat up, nausea or not you need to keep your strength up".

"Go on, I'm fine" She waved him out of the room.

Lloyd made for his office before closing the door and answering the call. "Denny...long time no speak".

"You're telling me. Just giving you a heads up that the new wives will be arriving next week. They're gonna be tame bunch to say the least".

"Well, you do enjoy preying on the week". Lloyd replied dryly, knowing full well it was true. He'd chosen a moment to try and hurt his wife when she was alone and vulnerable. "So I won't be getting anyone to come in and steam clean the blood from the floor? Because clearing up that mess was costly".

"Not this time". Denny assured him. "We're getting there, soon Eutopia will be seeing a rise in births and population itself".

Lloyd chose his moment. "Speaking of which, I've got news - Autumn's pregnant". He truly hoped that the news would hit Denny like a ton of bricks.

"She is? Well that's great Lloyd, congratulations". His friend said in the usual formal manner. "Send her my best, anyway I need to go, meeting the old man".

"Talk soon" Lloyd replied and hung up without allowing Denny to reply, a small smirk forming on his lips.
