#3-DRIFTING APART

Author's pov :-

It's time for Cea to become an official member of the team. This may break Cea and Alice apart. So Cea decides to tell Alice about how serious she is with her feelings for Alice. Cea gets ready to get rejected but she decides to tell Alice, that from now on she will try her best to make Alice fall for her.

Cea takes Alice to a restaurant for dinner.

At the restaurant :-

Alice: I never knew that you were a romantic person.
Cea: I need to tell you something so...., I wanted it to be special.
Alice: go on.
Cea: I know that you already know about me liking you but I want to tell you myself.....Alice, I like you and from now on I'll try my best to make you my girlfriend, so brace yourself.
Alice gives Cea a smile and says: all the best.

They hangout like usual but a not so often because they both are busy with their own work.

One day Cea and Alice go to a club to enjoy the weekend. They both get drunk and dance together. Cea makes a move and pulls Alice closer to kiss her. Alice also slowly moves closer and almost kisses her. Her lips touch Cea's lips but Alice suddenly stops herself and leaves Cea all alone and goes out. Cea runs behind Alice but she misses her in the crowd and Alice leaves. Alice ignores all the calls from Cea all night. Cea gets anxious and texts Alice, but Alice doesn't reply to any of her messages.

In the morning :-

Alice acts like nothing happened between them. Cea couldn't bring herself to ask her anything in the office. Alice starts to keep her guard up around Cea and stops herself from getting more close to Cea. Cea understands that something is stopping her from surrendering to her feelings. Cea gets all confused and decides to ask Alice herself.

In the pub :-

Leo and Kao still hangout together as usual. This time while both of them are drinking in the first floor of the pub, Kao hears a fight in the ground floor and leaves Leo there to see what was happening.
Leo gets lonely after 10 minutes and goes down to look for Kao. Leo sees Kao dealing with a customer as the owner of the pub. Kao apologies to the customer for the inconvenience and the customer leaves.

Kao with the manager and staff:

Kao: don't you know how to deal with these type of customers, take care of things smoothly. Don't drag it till they cause trouble.
Manager: I'll talk with the staff about it sir. 
Kao: don't repeat this again.

After seeing Kao dealing with everything, Leo understands that Kao hid the truth about him being the owner of the pub. When Kao sees Leo, Kao understands the disappointed face, he tries to explain what happened but Leo yells at him saying....

Leo: why did you hide that you are the owner of the pub? Did you think I would use you for money? Don't you trust me?
Kao: I do trust you.
Leo: but your actions say otherwise.
Kao: because I love you and I wanted you to love me for who I am, not a rich man or a successful businessman. I wanted to show you the real me before showing you my mask as a perfect businessman.

After hearing the words "I love you" from Kao, Leo remembers the night when he slept in Kao's house and leaves from there in a confusion, without saying a word.

The night Leo got drunk :-

When Kao washed Leo and put him to bed:
Leo: why are you taking care of me? You are always there with me, whenever I needed someone.
Kao: are going to remember if I tell you?
Leo: *pauses* I'm a lightheaded and I don't think I'll remember anything.
Kao: *smiles at Leo's honesty* it's good if you forget it, because I want to tell you when you are in your right mind. 
Kao slowly places his hand on Leo's head and softly brushes his hair off his forehead.
Kao: I love you, so much that I would do anything to see you smile. That small smile is enough for me to live. I want to protect that cute and innocent smile. I never thought I would love you this much. I want to take care of you and protect you from this world. Your happiness and safety are the most precious things for me.
Leo slowly drifts off into deep sleep and forgets everything in the morning.

Present :-

Leo remembers everything from that night and gets disappointed with his own behaviour. He gets confused about how he would face Kao in the future. He doesn't know what to feel right now, should he feel bad for shouting at Kao or should he feel upset for forgetting everything or should he feel the love from Kao ? With all mixed emotions, Leo falls asleep.
