Love is a pain, but past that it's a blessing

Hi readers! Hope you all are doing well. Here is the next chapter.

Present :-

Cea could sense the sadness and pain in Alice's words. When she was about to stop her, Alice continues;
Alice: next 8 months, we were in the hospital with Laila's parents. 3 days before she died, she took a promise from me, saying "I know how much my death will shake you up but promise me that you won't shut yourself up and keep your heart open for the one, who is trying to get into your life".
Alice: even though I gave her the promise, I still shut myself in a room for 2 days and that's when Laila's parents reminded me about my promise to Laila and made me come out of the pain and they became my parents.

Cea doesn't know what to say anymore, so she thinks of a question to bring Alice out of the past.
Cea: are the people in the photo on your office desk Laila's parents?
Alice: yes, they became my everything after all that and the other side of the frame has a picture of Laila and me.
Cea: can I see Laila's pictures?

Alice hands her phone with the picture of Laila and her, when they were dating. As Cea goes through the pictures, a feeling of jealousy covers her face. Alice understands that and gives Cea a sweet smile and says :
Alice: I can understand your feeling right now, but she is no more in my life and that does not mean I don't love her anymore and this doesn't mean I don't love you. Please be patient with me, it takes some time to totally open up to you.
Cea: your promise to her is the reason you accepted me, right?
Alice: yes, I lost all the hope on love and I'm not brave as before. If Laila didn't take a promise from me, I might not have accepted it. Her promise is just a push for me to open up.
Cea: can I visit Laila?
Alice: I'll take you to her.

After completing the food, Alice takes Cea to a cemetery.

Cemetery :-

Alice: hi Laila, it's been a long time. You know I don't have the courage to visit you. I'm sorry for not coming often. Uh.... *pointing to Cea* She is my girlfriend. I accepted her proposal today.
Cea: hello. Uh..... I'm Cea. Alice just told me about you and the promise she made to you. Thank you so much for taking care of Alice before. Thank you for pushing Alice to keep her heart open. I'll try my best to take care of her. I'll support her in every situation.
Alice: Laila, I love her and I love you too. I'm sorry for loving someone so soon.
Cea: no Alice, Laila will be happy to know that you have moved on. You don't have to be sorry.

After staying some time, they both go home.

Leo's apartment :-

In the morning, after Kao confessed Leo yesterday night. Leo wakes up from his bed and remembers everything again. All that happened, it happened so fast and Leo is still confused about what to do next.

Leo: ahhh!! I don't know what to do now.
Right then Leo Phone rings.
Leo: hello.
Leo's assistant : team leader, your team is missing your orders sir. We don't know what to start for the next project. Where are you sir? You are late.
Leo: I'm sorry, there is a file on my table with all the details on who should do what. Print copies and give it to everyone in the team.
Assistant: are you not coming sir?
Leo: yes, I'm a little sick. Inform the director that I'm taking one week off.
Assistant: yes sir. Don't worry sir, I'll make sure that everyone does their work properly. Get well soon sir.
Leo: thank you.

After the call:
Leo: *signs* Kao, I miss you.
Leo suddenly realises what he said.
Leo: ahhhh!!!! Why do I want to go see you? No! No I'm just having a guilty feeling. I just want to see and apologise to you. Ya, that's the reason. I need to take my mind off it.

Kao's apartment :-

Kao doesn't know what Leo thinks about him now. He want to go and ask Leo properly, but he doesn't know if he should go or not.
Kao is walking around in his room in a dilemma, whether he should go or not.

Kao: I dropped Leo off at his apartment once but I don't know his apartment number. Should I go and ask the building manager? No, I don't think Leo wants see me now.
(Phone rings)
Kao: is it Leo?
Kao rushes to pick up the phone but it's the pub manager. It's time for Kao to check the pub if they have been maintained well after every night.
Manager: Good morning sir. Everything is done sir. Are you coming to the main club or visiting the other branches sir?
Kao: I'm coming to main pub. I might be a little late, take care of everything till I get there.
Manager: yes sir.

Even though Kao doesn't want to go, it's his duty which he can't skip.
