Voodoo Child

"Eh, we've got time to spare, invite 'em in"

"AHHH!" Sol screamed as Enigma's eye widened in shock.

The creature turned to face Sol and snarled, its rows and rows of teeth showing itself to him, it charged at him and he expected the sound of Enigma's time to stop, but he heard the footsteps of the monster growing quieter, he opened his eyes and saw it gone.

"...shit...shit shit shit" Sol swore as he went into his house and locked the door behind him.

"What was that?" Enigma questioned in an uncharacteristic shock.

"...Dart" Sol explained as he raided the first aid kit his father had kept to bandage the dogs wounds.

"I hate to be that guy...no I don't, but I told you so!" Enigma said angrily.

"Yeah, I'll keep a tally, we've got bigger things to worry about" Sol said beginning to wrap up his dogs wound.

"Oh yeah, like what?" Enigma moaned exasperated.

"Well, Dart ignored me, he was obviously going somewhere, we need to find out where that is" Sol explained.

"Okay, so call the police" Enigma said, but Sol looked at him as if he was crazy.

"The Police? I'm not getting dad involved, no way, he cannot know" Sol said.

"Oh yeah, because I'm sure he wont notice the CHUNK missing from Robert!" Enigma said annoyed pointing to the dog, who was fully bandaged and lied on Sol's arm exhausted.

"Just...let me think" Sol asked, getting overwhelmed.

"Well, dad gets home in two hours, gotta clean up the mess you made before then" Enigma said, referring to the living room, which Dart pretty much ruined, nothing was broken enough to be noticed, but it would take a while to put everything back in place.

Sol stood up and looked at the wreck his bad decisions had made on his house, he started cleaning up, worried that his father would return any minute.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

Sol could've had a heart attack, he and Enigma looked at each other, Enigma sensed Sol's next question and went to look through the door, Enigma turned around with eyes of genuine fear.

"Is it dad?" Sol asked.

"Worse...Lucas" He said, all the fear from Sol's body dissipated as he stood up to open the door. He opened it to see Lucas looking like he didn't really want to be there.

"Hey" Sol nodded.

"Hi" He said, the two stayed in silence for a moment before another voice spoke up.

"Just tell him to screw off, we don't have much time" Enigma said impatiently.

"Jesus Christ Lucas just tell him why your here" The unmistakeable voice of Max sounded as she appeared from beside Lucas.

"Eh, we've got time to spare, invite 'em in" Enigma smiled.

"Right...were here because...Max-" Lucas went to say.

"No Lucas, you, your telling him" Max said annoyed.

"Fine...you know how Will went missing in the woods?" Lucas asked.

"Yeah?" Sol said intrigued.

"Well...your gonna wanna sit down for this" Lucas said, Sol invited them inside and the two withheld their comments about the state his home was in.

Lucas sat down in the middle of a couch and Sol sat on one directly opposite to Lucas, he was slightly taken aback when Max sat directly next to him but chose not to make a scene. Enigma however went into full operation love life. Enigma began thinking of different ways to get Lucas out of the house and leave you and Max alone, all this while Lucas explained a fair bit.

One Explanation Later

"So...what do you think?" Lucas said. His explanation was shoddy at best, left a lot of things that any normal person would think was impossible.

But Sol's tattoo meant he wasn't normal.

"Yeah...sure" Sol said.

"You...believe him?" Max asked.

"I mean...sure...why not" Sol said. "There seems to be no other logical explanation to this.

"Really?" Lucas asked, just as sceptical as Max.

"I mean...if you've got any evidence, that'll be great...but I don't think you have it in you to lie that well" Sol said, suddenly there was a knock at the door. 

Sol sighed and went to open it, he saw Maria standing nervously in the doorframe. She had an apologetic look on her face.

"I'm sorry" She said, Sol looked at her confused.

"Uh...sorry for what?" Sol asked.

"Being such a...bitch..." She swore, it somehow felt unnatural coming out her mouth.

"Oh its uh fine" Sol brushed off.

"C-can I come in...I have to tell you something" Maria said, a heavy blush creeping on her face.

"Uh...sure" Sol said confused as he stepped aside, Maria walked in holding both her hands close together as she saw Lucas and Max sitting awkwardly.

"O-oh...a-am I intruding on something?" Maria asked, the room was silent for a moment, nobody really wanted to talk.

"We told him" Lucas said. "We told her too" 

"Told him what?" Maria asked, her eyes suddenly widened in realisation, Maria angrily walked up to Lucas and dragged him to another room.

"Sol, bathroom now" Enigma demanded. 

"Uh, I gotta go to the bathroom...help yourself to some candy" Sol excused himself. He went to bathroom and locked the door.

"Dude this is great, you've basically got a party going on!" Enigma congratulated.

"Where are you going with this?" Sol asked bored. 

"We just need to get Sinclair out of here and we can turn it into one of those parties" Enigma suggested.

"Ew dude, how old are you?" Sol said in disgust.

"I'm just saying what we're both thinking" Enigma said, the front door suddenly opened and the two heard the unmistakeable voice of Sol's father.

"What is all this mess?" Officer Callahan asked.

"Uh...sorry, we were just messing around" Sol said walking back to the living room, where Max and the others sat.

"You didn't tell me you had this many friends" He said in disbelief.

"Hello, Officer" Lucas greeted.

"Oh please, Phil's fine, makes me feel old." Phil brushed off. "Hey, you kids hungry, I got hamburgers...any of you have any dietary needs?" 

"Uh...I could eat, you?" Maria asked the others.

"Sure...not like my dad gives a shit where I am" Max deprecatingly laughed.

"Well I'll get the stove started, make yourselves at home" Phil smiled.

"Your dad seems..." Maria trailed off.

"Not like most cops" Lucas agreed.

The group would go on to have a good dinner and all the awkwardness that the group had seemed to wash away, Lucas was incredibly glad Max forced him to come here, although he wasn't sure why she did it.
