Voodoo Child
"What about Edward?"
"A little help would be nice" Sol grunted, as he tried to search for something.
"Yeah I bet..." Enigma sighed in a relaxing way.
It had been just over half a year since everything back at those tunnels, and life had returned to relatively normal.
Sol had reasons to be excited, it was his birthday soon after all, but tonight he had to go down to the new mall that just opened up because all of his friends wanted to hang out.
He'd finally been able to make friends as well, and while Sol didn't know and really had no way off, his arrival had shifted the dynamic a bit.
Enigma had really only been getting more annoying, and over time they'd began to work on the new investments of their abilities.
Enigma could now walk around for as long as Sol could hold it, which depended on the day, and he sent him out pretty regularly.
All of Sol's friends had grown accustomed to the shadowy figure, and also minded what they said about him. He could get pretty easily offended.
Sol couldn't find what he was looking for and realised he was running late as it was, so he just decided to forget it and go.
He was looking for his walk man which Enigma had mysteriously lost after Sol refused to play any of his songs.
Sol walked down the streets in the dead of night on the way there, when all of a sudden he heard a voice call out.
He turned around to locate the source of the noise and saw Maria on her bike riding towards him with a smile.
Maria was a pretty practical girl, she always had a basket on the front of her bike, it wasn't normally big and it wasn't normally full of anything.
But this time it did have something in it, being a present wrapped in a blue and red scheme as she slid up next to him.
Maria came to a halt still with a warm look to her, while the two had agreed to not date each other, it didn't mean the kiss they shared at the snowball was their only one.
Maria had pretty much became Sol's best friend, but it occurred to neither of them on fatal flaw in said friendship.
When they kissed at the snowball and became unsure of their feelings for each other, they had assumed no one else had seen.
Because of this, they never felt the need to tell anyone they weren't together, no one new that the kiss happened anyway, so why bother.
Except one person did see, one person out of the sea of others, and of course its the one person who would of taken it the worst.
Max tried to deny any feelings for Sol, both out of respect for the relationship she thought Sol and Maria had, but also more to try and convince herself.
After the snowball, she and Lucas dated for a total of one week, they told people, or more like Lucas bragged about it to as many people as possible.
But they argued way too much in that week and it was good for none of them, so they just called it off.
Sol saw the present Maria had in her basket and she brought it out to give it to him, to which he looked at her a bit sceptical.
"Just...in case I can't make it to your birthday, thought I'd give it to you now" Maria smiled.
Actually, there was another person who wasn't thrilled about Sol and Maria, but for the exact opposite reasons Max was.
