Im walking up the road to the diner and for some reason I feel like Im being watched and every tiny noise is setting me off and making me jump, Im probably just being paranoid from last nights beating, I just need to take deep breaths and make it to the diner.

I flatten down my uniform and clutching my bag tighter on my shoulder, I don't live on the safest part of town and I sneed to be aware of my surroundings very very often

I see the sign from a distance and pick up my pace wanting to be safe inside the walls of the diner

I walk in through the double glass doors and am met with Glenda's motherly smile, I smile at her back and walk up to her "working late tonight" I say with a smirk knowing she wont like it, with a stern look directed towards me "don't test me young lady" she says pointing at me with one hand and the other resting on her hip, I put my hands up defensively a big smile on my face to indicate I am indeed joking "I'm just messing with you glendaaa" I say letting out a nervous laugh, "get to work, the faster you start the faster you can get home and get some rest" she says while walking away to attend a customer

I walk to the lockeroom and open up my locker taking off my Jacket revealing my work uniform, I tie the apron around my back and take my notepad and pen sticking it in one of my apron pockets, I lock my little locker and walk out the front desk and begin my wonderful shift.

The pastel colors of the diner and the old school booths always made this place so homey and nostalgic, I have never not felt safe here. I've been working here for about a year and it's probably the best decision I've ever made

Hm its weird its already 12 and No sight of Zane anywhere, he's usually already here when I get here mayb- Aurora he is his own person hes probably busy, if he comes he comes and if he doesn't then well he doesn't, I'm already attached to someone I barely know, I suppress the eye roll directed to myself and snap out of whatever little zone out sesh Im having

It is currently 12:45pm and my shift ends at 3:00am, I look around hoping to see mr.mysterious but am met with only an old couple eating burgers and milkshakes almost making me audibly awe

The bell chimes alerting us that there is a new customer and I reach down for my notepad and pen looking up with a big smile on my face ready to serve, but my hands freeze in their spot and a warm feeling moves up my spine, my smile drops from my face as soon as my eyes met his

my dad is standing at the door his fists clenched by his side and face red in anger, if we were in a cartoon steam would most definitely be coming out of his ears

Im stuck in my spot, fear is all I feel, pure unimaginable fear.

"Found you." He says, a menacing smirk on his face, my hands shake and tears prick my eyes, "come here don't make me make a scene" he says but my feet stay planted to the ground, how did he find me.... Im- I cant even move or process his words, before a blink of an eye he is stomping towards me, at that moment Ares decides to come out of the kitchen but he wasn't fast enough, my dad got to me before he could even think of anything to do about the situation

My dad reaches me and wastes no time grabbing my already sore scalp, and pulls me hard and fast towards the door, pain shoots throughout my head and the next thing I feel is my body make contact with the cold concrete My head hits the concrete and hard, making everything fuzzy, I try to blink it away but it doesn't work, I hear yelling before a blow to my stomach hits making me curl myself on the floor

Everything I have done was to avoid this moment right here. It was so I can have a taste of having something all to myself

next thing I see through blurry eyes is a familiar voice yelling and car doors slamming shut "get the fuck away from her" Jesus christ that language but that voice is very familiar

I feel myself being carried, where am I going? God my head feels heavy. I can barely keep it up

My eyes feel heavy but what can I do? The overwhelming urge to close my eyes overtakes me Might as well just go to sleep
