It was a school day, Miki and I left in a hurry while Akira was slower than usual. He acted out of character, completely isolate from everyone. He cleaned the window and roof properly, leaving no evidence behind, while his brain was flooding his mind with images...of me...naked...going from my bare shoulders down...
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" he couldn't take it anymore. Akira didn't want to see me that way. It was bad already with Miki but with me...it is a whole lot worse. The only one he could ask for help was his friend Ryo. He might have the answers to his questions.
In school, it was not easier for us.
As the slowest sprinter now, I received a lot of teasing. It was nothing compared to the insults I get from the girls, all because of Akira. It seems that he doesn't even have to be around to cause trouble. If it wasn't for Miki, I would have left right after sport. Miko had also supported me on the track, giving me positive feedback and advice on how to get better. So far she was the only friend, besides Miki, I got. With Akira...I don't know. I couldn't forget the first night at home, as Akira looked at me and said: I will stay at your side, I promise, you can always count on me. The way he said it, it is like he said it from the heart, no wonder I cried with him. But the Akira now, was different. His words are heavier, selfish, like he is fighting with himself, like there are two sides of him. One side is sweet and kind and the other, rude and greedy." Even to Miki, he stayed a mystery.
On the other hand, I seem to be causing the same effect on Akira.
He kept on talking about me, while his friend Ryo just sat there and worked on his laptop. Akira couldn't sit still, walking constantly from one side to the other, "She lives with us now and I liked her the minute we met, but since I changed, she seems to get more and more...distant. What did I do wrong? Is it my body? Did I say something wrong? Are you even listening?!"
His Ryo's eyes went from his laptop towards his frustrated friend, "Why are you talking about her so much? There are plenty of girls out there that would have you in a second." He showed him a dating side on the laptop. Akira shook his head, "I don't want anyone else!" A sudden headache made it all worse, "I want her...and Miki."
"Doesn't she live with you as well?"
"Yes?"
The blond boy went back to his screen, "How much do they mean to you?"
For a minute, he didn't say a thing. What was I really? He didn't know me that long. With Miki, he knows her for a long time and he always had a crush on her. Akira couldn't separate the feelings. Is it a crush, love, or does he just wants to f...
"NOOOO!!!!"
Ryo didn't flinch at this response. Akira faced him determined, "They mean everything for me!"
"Even your own life?"
He nodded quickly.
The blond boy saw nothing special in that matter, or the fact, that his friend would probably die for me and Miki. But then again, he saw some advantages for himself, "How about you invite them over." "Really?" Akira was happy about that. He assumed that Ryo would talk to us and everything will we back the way it was before. He sure was naive when it comes to his old friend. Heading off home, Ryo went through his files and smiled pleased, "They might be of good use to me."
Back at home, we were already at the dining table, waiting for Akira.
Noel wants us all to be there a dinner, no exceptions. Waiting for all family members to arrive was normal. Akira arrived a few minutes later, looking surprised at the seats. It surprised him, that one seat was empty, right next to me. Slowly, he grabbed the chair and sat down in silence. Nothing out of the ordinary happened during that time, this confused Akira. Akiko suddenly spoke up, breaking the silence, asking us how our day was. Miki gave a short answer to that, giving her husband the chance to continue. It didn't take long, till Noel asked Akira, as of why he wasn't there. The boy looked towards the table, not sure of what to say. He didn't want to tell them about this friend and their conversation they had. Akiko noticed that he won't speak up, so she asked something else, "Akira, why did you scream upstairs?"
These made all of our head go up, all eyes now directed to the boy.
"I...I ..." memories came back...including the unpleasant ones. He couldn't look in my eyes or in Mikis. He wanted to excuse himself and leave, but Noel demanded an answer. Akira was close to tears. Inside his mind, he was begging him to stop asking. I gritted my teeth, I couldn't watch this anymore, "I left my underwear on the bathroom floor. He must have stepped into the one I forgot to remove the panty liner." Noel raised a brow, "For this you scream Akira?"
He didn't look up, eyes focused on the table.
I interrupted again, "I have my periods." Even Noels face turned to disgust, glad that we all are already finished with our meals. At the end, all he did was giving me a lecture, on how to take more care of my stuff, especially such female items. He assumes that this might have shocked Akira.
Now was my turn to lecture, "If that is such a huge problem for him, by can't I move into Miki's room? He isn't a little boy anymore, he is a man."
"I told you, she needs to study and Akira wanted you in his room."
"I didn't mind it...until he changed."
Noel didn't want to discuss it any further. Leaving everything as it is, he send me upstairs. In the bedroom, Akira was already there, waiting on his bed. Tears were streaming down his face, while his eyes looked at mine, "Why did you lie?"
I grinned at him, "Did I?"
"There was nothing on the floor. Why did you help me out?"
Not seeing the problem at this, I slapped his shoulder playfully, "Relax, I just couldn't see you cry again, that is all."
Smiling slightly, he came forward, ready for a hug, only for me to stop him, "That doesn't mean that I forgiven you." I made that perfectly clear, by pulling the mattress to the other side of the room. His eyes only had one question; why are you doing this? I glared back at him, "I just want to make sure that this will be a night without any interruptions."
Akira looked away, not showing that it offends him. So she really hates me after all, he thought.
