The bucket that I kicked over was close enough to grab on to. The demon seems to be too overwhelmed by this feeling, releasing my wrists. That was my chance, with one good hit; I smashed the metal bucket against his head. I crawled underneath his body, running to the next exit. The demon had trouble with the balance, leaning against the walls for support. I seem to have hit him well, having enough distance to escape.

Koda heard the loud noise, heading down to see Akira in the corner.

"What happened?"

The Devilman was there like a scared child, crying out, "She saw me...she saw me..."

"Who did?"

He didn't reply, getting up, "I have to protect her."

"There is war out there, humans against demons. She may not survive this battle."

Akira growled at him, "That is why I am protecting her, even if it means dying while trying."

Not to waste time to walk down the stairs, he simple smashed a hole into the wall, flying out the building. Koda watched him, feeling moved by his courage, remembering how it felt to lose someone you love.

My chest hurts badly, but I didn't want to rest until I am saved. The street has turned to a battle field, seeing cars hunting down humans, shooting them without hesitation. Innocent people begged for mercy, repeating the same words over and over again, "I am not a demon, I am human!" The sound was engraved into my memory, terrifying me to the very core. Unaware that Akira kept an eye on me from above. He even tried to save others at the same time, no matter whom and what it was. Seeing a demon getting attacked by humans, I ran directly towards it. He wants to make sure that we both stay unharmed, begging the demon to withdraw and hide away. Unfortunately, he had no chance; the demon went against his wishes and paid the price with his life. Akira, feeling hopeless, cried out to him stop fighting, it was too late.

"Another demon!"

Akira panicked, looking down from the roof. They meant me, as I ran towards them. Raising his wings, he dropped to the ground to get their attention. The humans began to shoot at the Devil, "There everywhere!" His action took effect, not only getting their eyes of me, but also for my body to stop moving. With wide eyes, I backed away from the scene. Akira couldn't dodge all the bullets, heading my way. Even as I turned into an alley, he was faster than me. Afraid of its revenge, I threw whatever I found at it, "Stay back demon!" They were a lot easier to dodge, getting closer the minute I ran out of items to throw. Grabbing my waist, he flew up, holding me tight against his chest. During the ride, we were shot at from snipers, for Akira a hard task to keep me from harm. Completely covered by his arms and body, he could leave me near Miki's house. He couldn't risk it, that I would know his identity, throwing me to the ground on purpose. Not hearing his apology, he disappeared as quickly as he caught me.

Breathing hard, I got up and ran straight to the door.

The slamming of the door shut, made the ones in the house look into my direction. Miki came over, hugging me tight, "I am glad that that you are back."

"Miki, what is going on here?"

She looked sad, "The world has gone mad, they..."

Her words got even more disturbing. This whole situation feels like a bad horror movie, only that this was the reality just now. Miki showed me the message she got from her mother. She left with Taro, but didn't say where to. Worried sick, she didn't know what to do and neither do the people she was with. A bunch of guys sat in the living room, greeting me casually. Miki mentioned that they helped her out, while she was walking outside. At this moment, leaving the house would be suicidal.

You could imagine how we felt, as Akira came back.

Glad to see him in one piece, I hugged him, "I am glad you're back." This made him really happy, wrapping his arms around my waist, "And I am glad you're saved."

"Akira"

He looked over my shoulder, to see Miki. Her worried expression made him clear that something happened. Reading the message from Akiko, they knew that they have to go out and look for them. If it wasn't for Noel to beat them to it, "I got out and look for them. Akira, please take good care of Miki and N/A. They need you now, more than anyone. Will you do that for me?" The boy nodded, "I will...we are family, we stick together." Well said, I thought. Somehow, the atmosphere had gotten colder. The moment Noel closed the door, it spreads out the room. This made us worried. Akira held me close again, "What is it N/A? You are trembling."

"...I have a bad feeling about this. I am scared Akira."

Miki had never seen me like this, asking him to keep an eye on me. She didn't have to say it twice, carrying my body bridal style to his room. Akira lied next to me, till I fell asleep. It took a lot of assuring words to calm me down. Meanwhile, the others watched on the TV the latest news for the world. Akira came down shortly after, joining in.

"Where is N/A?" asked Miki, not seeing me anywhere.

"In my room sleeping, it is the best for her now."

"She is right Akira; there is a bad feeling in the air. I don't blame her to be scared."

He grabbed Miki's arm looking into her eyes, "I won't let anything happen to you two. I promise."

As much as she wanted to believe him, the news however showed a different side. Everyone seems to be scared now, fighting against one another, no matter if demon or human. On live television appeared a large white light, on one side of the earth. Everyone seems to be puzzled by this event, not sure of what to think it may be.

Unlike Ryo...he was panicking....seeing the light on the wide screen.
