I received a phone call in the morning, saying that I was selected to run on a tournament. It wasn't the same like the one Akira and Miki go to, but close by. It was for amateur runners that are given a chance to present their school. As much as I hate running, it may be a chance to get my mind off the things that happened recently. Even Miki and Akira came home late, sitting on the roof, talking about something I couldn't hear. The thing I experience may not be a good thing to tell them about, I don't want them to believe that I take drugs or something. The only thing I had to express myself with was my talent to draw. Standing up slowly, I looked at my sketch book from last night and inspected the first page. After being so close to the devil, I couldn't help but draw it the moment I came home. The longer I stare at the sketch, the more I felt silly, it looked like a costume. Maybe it was all a scam or made for a prank.
Packing my bags, I went into the living room.
Miki's parents were all on the couch, watching the run on the television. So I guess Akira and Miki are already on their way. Akiko looked puzzled, seeing me with my sports bag, "Where are you going, the run is starting in thirty minutes."
"I got my own competition at another place."
Noel smiled pleased, "Presenting your school?"
I nodded, "I got selected this morning."
"Good luck N/A. here" He gave me my Smartphone I left on the couch last night, "You can follow the run on your mobile."
"Thank you, see you later!"
Unlike the two, I have to get there by bus. It drove a different route, because of road works, passing a crime scene. It was an old building, closed by police tape. Several officers stood nearby, while white sheets covered something on the floor. It wasn't hard to guess what it may be, seeing blood everywhere. Suddenly, I got a headache...there is something about this place...but I can't put my finger on it. It is like I seen this building before. Thankfully, it drove off pretty quick, easing my pain. Getting my Smartphone out of my bag, I checked the live broadcast of the run. Akira, Miko and Miki are already there, warming up. Another guy came into sight. He was interviewed by a man named Asuka Ryo.
"Ryo...why does this name sound familiar?"
The other guy's name is Moyuru Koda. He seems to be one of the runners from another school. I checked the time for a second, only five minutes till it starts. That was also the moment when I had to get off the bus. Not watching the start right away, I was impressed as the next person took over. Koda and Miko were next, but the speed they both had, was inhuman. Just like the time Akira made a new record. Overwhelmed by this, I didn't look where I was going, almost tripping over a dog and its owner. Next off was Miki. I knew how fast she is, but now I wanted to see her best performance. Counting down to the moment she gets the staff, someone else beats her to it. The dog's owner looked in disbelieve, as I didn't apologize, instead I got mad, "What the hell, Akira!"
The anchor himself took over her round, what is the big deal?
Heading up to the stadium, I couldn't believe that Akira could speed up to that guy. Now both at the same level seem to be talking. I cursed the broadcast, not able to zoom in on to them. But that wasn't important anymore, not after my display turned red. Scenes from a party came up, people got killed or turned to monsters...my headache was back, but this time...it was extreme. Holding my head tight, my Smartphone fell to the ground. Something as trying hard to remember, but the memories won't show. Suddenly, countless screams came from the ground. Opening my eyes, I saw the massacre on the small display. Whatever it was, it killed everything it its path.
"What is that thing?"
I jumped, as the sound got louder. No surprise there, since the stadium was close by. I was in no mood to run anymore, except back home. On a tall building display, the event was immediately cancelled, but on my Smartphone, it was still there live on screen. It was just too scary to watch it, that I hardly understood the blonde guy commenting what just happened. Looking up to the sky, my body trembled with fear.
"What the hell is going on here?"
Suddenly, something flew by, holding something huge in its grasp. It looked like a giant bat, but I don't think such a creature exist in Japan or even the giant rhinoceros underneath it. On one hand, I wanted to get the hell out of here, but on the other, I was curious to find out the truth. I watched the thing fly over a building a few block down the road, landing on the roof. Not to get its attention, I sneaked in slowly, not getting too close to them. Fear held me back, from opening the door to the roof. Maybe I am not a curious as I thought, heading back down to the previous floor. The sound of the door opening, adrenaline made me move fast, hiding behind a wall. With wide eyes, I saw the same devil that saved me the other night. Moving further away, I tripped over a bucket. The loud noise made the devil face my direction. He seems to be just a scare as I am, seeing his eyes getting wider. I was trapped in that corner, on one side was a wall and the other the large windows. The creature walked on two feet towards me. In panic I went down on all fours, crawling between his legs. But I didn't get far, as his hands held my feet. Pulling me back, he turned my body around. I feared to get killed, kicking his stomach with my feet. Not able to use my hands, as he pinned them down to my sides, he couldn't stop me to hit him below. My adrenaline increased, as his head got closer. All of a sudden, it kissed my lips tenderly. Shocked by that, I stopped my kicks, not sure on how to react to this. His legs kneeled down, till he was all over me, it's chest against mine. I froze, as the devil went further, exploring my mouth. It was hard not to feel aroused by this, but then, it wasn't human. I had to get it off me, but how?
