14. Chasing

Hours later, I went down to the living room. Miki and Akira were there, not talking much. The atmosphere hasn't change since, it was still cold and distant, the only thing that gave up some warmth, was the cat at the window, begging to enter the house. Miki granted the black feline to come in, running past me. Just then, the two noticed my presence.

"N/A, how do you feel?"

I looked from Miki, who asked, to Akira.

He didn't say anything, just kept typing on his Smartphone. With a small nod, I sat on the couch, staring to the floor, "Did your dad find your mom and Taro?"

"He didn't text me or anything, Akira is asking his friend to help out."

My eyes moved to him, "How?"

"If anyone can find them it is him. Here Miki"

We both came closer and looked at the display; his friend was sure fast with this. But still, that doesn't mean that we go over there. Akira sends the information to Noel and then he left me and Miki in the house. Not really awake just now, I followed the two to the door. I never seen Miki this scared. From the outside, she acts tough, but to those who know her a little better, know it is not true.

Alone now, I asked Miki out of the blue was bothered me just now.

"Peru?"

"Huh?"

"His friend must be in Peru. Who is this friend?"

Miki faked the smile, "The one I told you about...this weird friend."

It puzzled us both as of why he went to Peru at such a situation. First causing chaos and then, leaving the country? I couldn't help but shake my head at this, "He sure has an odd friend." Even so, there was nothing else for us to do, besides waiting for Akira and her father. The other guys stayed with us, in case we needed protection and in the meantime, they gave us some space.

"Hey Miki"

She looked confused, as she watched me going through the draws in the kitchen, "What is it N/A?"

"I know it is not a nice thing to ask at such a time, but do we have something to eat in the house?"

Miki shook her head, "Mom and Taro took the last bit we had with them."

"But we all need to eat something. I go and check out the shops nearby." She expected for me to say something else but that. Before I could even get my coat, she slapped my hands to stop, "You aren't going anywhere! Either we go together or no one!" I could convince her to split into two groups, one goes out for food the other stays at home. The ones named Gabi and Wam went out with me, while the others waited with Miki for Akira's return.

She trembled as we opened the front door, "Please be careful guys."

"Naturally!" I grinned wide.

Wam, the guy with a white cap and golden necklace, stood quite close to my side. The other one Gabi, with dreadlocks that are tied back, was keeping his distance. Just in case he needed to protect us from behind. The shops were destroyed; the windows smashed and almost no items were left inside. Luckily, we found some cans under the shelves and a few crisps. The next store was a few blocks down the road, also in bad condition. Looking over the counter, it was completely covered with graffiti. Here, we only found some sweets. It may not make us full, but at least we don't feel hungry tonight.

"Okay guys, let's get back."

The moment I finished my sentence, a group of men with baseball bats came running. It was no mystery what they wanted, since they constantly screamed 'demons' towards us. Wam stuffed the cans under his shirt and Gabi grabbed the sweets and crisps. During the chase, they had to throw some things they found lying around at the group. It was only a matter of time till they caught up with us. Wam and Gabi held them back, telling me to keep running. But since we were too far off from Miki's home, I didn't know how to get back on my own. Turning from one alley to another, I was easily lost. The screams I hard didn't make it any better, fearing that the boys got killed. Although this wasn't the moment to think of others, something was flying down from the sky. Backing off, I was ready to turn on my heel and run.

"There you are, he was wondering where you been."

A furry creature with big round eyes with arms and legs, is calling herself Jenny. Her smooth voice told me of her mission she was ordered to fulfill, by getting me back to him.

"Who is it you mean?"

Jenny's creepy smile only got wider, "I believe you already met each other."

"Then I wouldn't have to ask you!"

"Humans are very impatient creatures" she mumbled, flying closer towards me.

Moving my body into the opposite direction, I said, "Your right, I am impatient...because I want to survive." But to escape was useless, Jenny's skill to fly made her block my path, "Don't resist, just come with me." Reaching her hands out, she waited. Expecting me to walk right into them, I stepped back. Her eyes got wider, "Come on now. He is waiting for you."

Again, him....who the hell is that supposed to be?!

I couldn't do anything but go backwards. Her stared send chills down my spine, making my body shake violently. I began to panic.

"Psycho Jenny, what is the meaning of this?!"

Like she wasn't creepy enough, came another monster like creature from behind. It got closer to my side, ready to grab me with his massive claws.

"Leave this to me Xenon, you got your own job to do."

The large creature stared down at me with disgust, "Filthy human beings."

"I will be with you shortly" she said, waiting for the demon to leave us. Growling at my presence, he disappeared in the distance. Now it was me and Psycho jenny again. But to be honest, Psycho...it is the perfect word to describe her. Her stare give me the creeps.

Although, she didn't like to wait either, ready to attack at any moment, "I warned you."

Preparing myself to run, I saw something shiny behind her. Before I knew it, Jenny was flying into the nearest wall, bleeding badly. She didn't move anymore. Shocked and surprised, I faced the one that saved me.

I sighted relieved, "Good timing."
