The first night in Miki's room was fun. We talked the entire night over all sorts of stuff, except two things: Akira and his friend. Why we couldn't do this sooner became a mystery to me, although it was explained. The reason wasn't just good enough in my book. But to a certain boy was this one major issue. We weren't aware, that Akira has tip toed over to Miki's room and sat beside the door. Inside his room, he felt all alone and this is something he tried to prevent, by having me around. Through the door, he heard us talk and laugh out loud. Overwhelmed by this, he began to cry quietly. He wanted to be a part of this, feeling the same thing just now. It took some time, but he wanted to give it a try. Standing up, he was ready to knock. At this moment, Taro passed by. Akira withdraws his hand and pretended, that he just went passed Miki's door. The little boy didn't notice, humming the theme tune of Devilman. Akira almost tripped over the cat that was also in a Devilman costume, also following Taro into is room.

Akira could only go back into the dark empty room of his, texting the only long time friend he has in the world. While typing the letters on the display, memories of his past came up. His parents had sent him shoes a while ago, they always do that. He looked towards his closet, the shoe boxes were piling up in one corner. Sighting loud, he sends his message and went to bed, but unlike a good-night sleep, nightmares haunted him.

At the hospital, of where I went to, began the nightshift.

The nurse that took care of me had her shift tonight. Since one of her colleagues was sick, she offered herself for the task; in return, she won't have to come in tomorrow afternoon. Like the usual jobs she has to do, was it also her responsibility that everything was in order. Moaning at the pile of files she has to organize, her hands went first to the phone. Dialing the number of her boyfriend, a loud bang made her jump up. The sound came from the staff kitchen. Since the other nurses were busy, checking the patients, she had walked over to the room. Peeking in, she didn't see a single soul inside, only a silver platter on the floor. Relieved that it was nothing serious, she placed it on the counter. Since she was already there, she decided to make herself some coffee. During that time, a stranger had gone into the office, taking one of the files with them. As fast as it came in, it also disappeared. That night, only five nurses were present at the station A. In the kitchen, they always sat together at their five minute break. One of the nurses was talking about the other sick colleague, assuming she only wanted a day off; she accidentally hit the cup with her arm. Out of reflex, one went over the storage room, getting a towel. Opening the door a little, she heard another one saying that she has some tissues left. Accepting this, she closed it again. Once the five minutes break was over, they all went back to work, not seeing the line of blood...coming from underneath the closet.

In the morning, I woke up rather late.

Since the conversation took so much time last night, I only slept an hour. Tired as hell, I rolled up in my blanket. From the distance, I saw Miki on the small balcony, talking to someone on the phone. Not interested by this, I went back to sleep. But someone didn't want this to happen, as Miki began to get louder. Looking up again, I saw Akira in his boxers and shirt, taking Miki's phone away. I didn't even hear him come in, how did he do that? Suddenly, they began to argue with her, that she is quite the naïve one and to be more careful, but Miki refused to take it lightly, asking him if that is such a bad thing. I had no opinion in that matter, not even sure how it started; I yawned loud and rolled around, having my back toward them.

Miki's voice sounded grumpy, "Hey sleepy head, wake up!"

Oh dear god, let me get some sleep!!!

Akira pulled on my blanket, while I tried to stay underneath it. His next attempt, he got me off the ground and onto Miki's bed, dropping me instantly. Caught off guard, he took the opportunity to get rid of the blanket...and regretted this. My top was a little wide, not covering everything. In silence, he released the sheet and let it fall back on me. Climbing back up to his room through the window, Miki came over to my side. I was blushing hard, while she just patted my back. Embarrassed what just happened, I rather miss out to eat breakfast today. Thankfully, Miki did as well, leaving the house together. We might need a good excuse afterwards for Noel. Akira heard this, feeling awful. Sitting at the table, Miki's father Noel asked him what was going on between us. The boy didn't want to answer this, keeping silent. His wife Akiko got concerned, "Did you two fight again?" He shook his head. They knew he won't tell, letting him go.

At the same time, Miki has asked me to join her to a casting.

She told me about the man on the phone, he wanted some photos of Miki. Remembering Akira's words, I had to ask her as well, "What did Akira mean by naïve?"

"He thinks that Nagasaki will take advantage of me. If you are there, I can prove him wrong."

As much as I would like to go, I was still tired. I really needed some time off, "Not today." She accepted it anyway, nudging my side, "But we go out tomorrow night okay?"

"Tomorrow?"

"I thought we go out, just us girls. Together nothing bad will happen."

This might be fun, I thought. Nodding at her, she walked off, wishing me a good night already. I rarely was alone, so I took this as an opportunity to get some homework done. Back home, Akiko greeted me, "Welcome home N/A. You are on your own?"

"Miki is at a casting."

"And Akira?"

I shrugged, "Haven't seen him."

She looked towards the window, "He just left a minute ago."

That is odd, I thought, considering that there was no place to hide and I could see the entire road the whole time. How did he get out of the house without passing me?
