A Letter To Jade From The Past.

Three Months Later.

Have you ever felt that something is missing in your life and if you had the chance you would go and get it?

That's what Jade felt every day but she couldn't let herself tell her parents about her feelings.

It is not that she didn't want to but Jade didn't want to look ungrateful to them, especially to her sister who took her in and accepted her as her sister.

The wonderful family that took her in when her own family turned their back on her. Even though she was still a kid when they left, she always remembered how she looked for them.

Whenever she saw how Maya acted with their father, she felt something in her that seemed to be buried the day her blood left her without looking back just to see if she was alright.

To get closure, she needs to find them and ask them why they left her at the mall instead of an orphanage.

Jade needed closure more than anything else. She needs to let go of the past that has been haunting her mind ever since she received a letter from someone who knows her. Even though she changed her last name.

"Are you alright, Jay?", her sister Maya asks her.

For the past few days, Jade has been absent-minded and this wasn't something that would go unnoticed by Maya.

"Don't you dare say that you are fine. So spill now", Maya added knowing that the word 'fine' would be on her sister's lips.

Maya has always treated her as her sister and severly dislikes the word 'adopted'.

She has always considered Jade her sister and who she is.

Jade decided to show her the letter she had received for almost a week and that was unopened.

"Do you want to open it?", Maya asks her sister who looked more confused than she has ever been seeing a letter from someone who knows her, and yet her sister hasn't even opened it. "What are you waiting for, Jay?", Maya added.

"I want to open it with everyone including mamma and dad too. I want them here when I read it. Besides whoever sent this letter is wasting their time if they think that they will come and disrupt my life", Jade answers her.

"I completely agree with you, Jay. But what if the person who sent you the letter appears then what will you do? You can't ignore them forever, sis. Some day you will have to face them...."

"And when that happens you guys will be right behind me. My real family. The family who will never abandoned me", Jade interrupts her.

This made Maya happy knowing that no one can take that away from either of them.

The two sisters decided to tell their family about the letter that Jade had gotten. But she was also nervous about the letter contained.

They both went to see their parents at their home and decided that it was time to let them know about the letter that Jade had received from her past.

Her parents abandoned her without giving her a single thought to see if she was alive or not.

"Asalam Aleikum, Mamma. Where's dad?", Maya asks her mother who was in the kitchen preparing dinner for the four of them.

"Waleikum salaam. He is in his office preparing for tomorrow's session with a troublesome teen. Whats wrong, my girls?", Layla asks her daughters.

"I think we should wait until we are done with dinner then we will tell you. Don't worry it isn't something bad...."
