Chapter Eighteen.

One Year Later.

Maya, Rocco, Jade, and Jayden's Wedding.

It has been almost one year since the death of their grandfather. Both Maya and Jade knew that he would have wanted them to be happy.

Today is their Nikkah, their mother looked at them with love in her eyes. Layla didn't expect to have two beautiful daughters who are now dressed as brides.

"You look beautiful Ma shaa Allah. And I am happy that I get to witness this moment with you. And thank you for letting me in your life again", Warda says to them.

Warda knew that she didn't have much time left. Thankfully she will witness her daughter's wedding even if it is just for one last time before cancer takes her.

Regret is what she feels every day of her life even though Jade assured her that she had already forgiven her and is willing to make their relationship work.

"Thank you, mother. And I am glad to have you here with us on this special day. You are the mother who gave me life", Jade tells her while holding her hand and then turns to Layla and took her hand. "And you are the mother who raised me. I am so lucky to have two amazing mothers in my life", she added squeezing both of their hands.

Maya knew how much Warda meant to Jade because she was the missing piece that she needed to feel complete.

"And my dear sister who used to tell everyone that we are twins even though we don't even look alike. Thank you for sharing this day with me....."

"If I would get to do what I did all over again. I would do it in a heartbeat. Because thats what you are, my sister. And my twin", Maya says cutting her sister off. And making everyone in the room laugh.

"Fine, we are twins. Happy now?", Jade asks Maya who was grinning at her.

"Can I come in?", Maher and Jason ask them.

"Come in, dad".

Jason looked at his daughters who are already dressed as brides and couldn't help but wipe the fallen tear on his face.

"You know that I could get you two out of here in a flash if you want to....."

He couldn't even finish what he was saying when Layla hit him on the back of his head.

"Stop, look at them. They are no longer our little girls who used to hide under the table when one of them would take the cookies from the cookie jar and they would share it...."

For Jason, it's hard for his daughters to get married but he knew that they will be happy with Rocco and Jayden.

"Dad, we want to thank you for everything you have done for us. We love you so much....."

Jason took both of them in his arms and started hugging them.

"I think the grooms are getting restless because they keep sending me messages saying that the kadhi is already here", Maher says interrupting them.

They all walked out of the room and started walking down the stairs to the living room which was fully decorated with their nikkah decorations.

Beautiful.

Both Jayden and Rocco say when they saw their brides walk in the room.

Alhamdulillah, happiness does exist. I pray that Hamza will find a way to make her come back so that he could ask for forgiveness. Being betrayed by someone you love is something that no one should be able to experience it.

"I do"

Jade says when she is asked her question. She turned to Maya and held her hand to assure her that she wasn't alone.

"I do".

Maya says when the Kadhi asks her a question.

It was time to sign their marriage certificate. But first, it was Rocco and Maya, and then Jayden and Jade.

After the Kadhi leaves, everyone who was there started to congratulate the couple.

Mandy approached Maya and Jade to congratulate them. She was one of the first people to have received their wedding invitation.

"Maya and Jade, congratulations. I am so happy for you two. And Maya, now you got your wish, right?", Mandy asks her smiling knowing that this has always been Maya's dream.

"Yes, and thank you so much for coming. I got two wishes, one of them is that I married the love of my life and the other one is that I get to share this amazing day with my sister. And I am happy that Jade accepted to do this", Maya answers Mandy.

"How could I say no when I fell for him without even realizing it", Jade tells them. "He was there when I needed to vent. He knew what to do when I had a bad day. In short, he is just like Maya. Plus he is also the love of my life too", she added smiling when she sees Jayden talking to her mother.

"Your love story is amazing. And I wish you the very best in your life. I am looking forward to reading your book. Take care now, " Mandy tells them.

She then hugs them and walked to mingle with the other guests.

"Here we know that you are hungry".

Both Jayden and Rocco sat beside their wives with a plate of food on their side.

"Thank you for not giving up, Rocco. I am going to be thankful that you didn't give up on us", Maya tells her husband.

"You know that I won't give you up to anyone. You are my best friend, the love of my life, and my world", Rocco says to her.

Layla, Jason, and Warda watched them with smiles on their faces knowing that they are now happy.

"Papa was right. Our kid's happiness is ours too", Jason tells them smiling.

Happiness is always going to be right in front of you but all you need is to open your heart to see it. Because sometimes the eyes are opened but you can't see anything.
