This shocked him as he has never met any of her cousins including Hamza.
"Seriously? I never thought you would be jealous of my cousin...."
"Well, I didn't know if he was your cousin, plus he always all over you and I had to control....."
"Your anger, your jealousy, your pride...."
"Okay, that's enough. I get it and yes to all of that. But I love you MayMay always. But now, you are getting engaged to...."
"Ew, no offense but Hamza is my brother. And that's all he can ever be plus I know that he has someone special in his heart but that's his story to tell and not mine", Maya tells him making him chuckle at her expression.
"But Jayden told me that there's an engagement party tonight and he said that it might be yours...." He says to her but when he sees Maya smiling he immediately knew that it was all planned by Hamza to make it believable what was going on between them.
"And instead of asking, you brought me here and kissed me not knowing that it's a lie. You didn't even bother to ask me if it was true of not?", Maya asks him.
"I...I wasn't thinking..."
"Yes, you weren't. Rocco, he is my cousin and even if he wasn't, I won't go for him. No offense to him but that's the truth. Besides, I doubt that he will let anyone else in his heart or his life", Maya explains to him.
"What so you mean?", he asks her.
"I can't tell you because its not my story to tell but his. But for now...."
"Will you give me a chance, please?", Rocco asks her. "Or just friends?", he added.
"Rocco..."
"Please just one more chance. If I hurt you again, you will never see me again", Rocco tells her.
Jade was right. The feelings that I have for him never fade. But I am scared of the ifs and buts. What should I do?
"Okay, this one chance but as friends. That's all I can give you for now", Maya answers him.
"I will accept that for now. But I will not give up in having you in my future", Rocco tells her.
"Okay, now can I go because the bell is about to ring in five minutes?", Maya asks him.
"Fine, but stay away from him. Even if he is your cousin. And one more thing, you are mine, MayMay", he tells her.
"Geez, fine but he is also brother plus I don't think that she would like someone else to be with him, " she explains to him, confusing him with what she is talking about. "Don't ask me anything else and I think you two will be great friends...."
"No, no and no. I can't be friends with someone who can hug you and make you smile", Rocco tells her making her laugh.
Maya couldn't help but laugh at Rocco's reaction as it was funny to look at.
"What are you laughing at? Yes, I am jealous of him. But I know that your heart belongs to me and no one else....."
"Okay, but now I have to go. Plus I need to finish my lunch and you need to let me go and...."
"No, I am not letting you go...."
"Roc, all I am saying is that let my hand go so that we can get back to work", she tells him. "And we are friends..." she added.
"Just for now. We will be together in future and I will make sure of it. In shaa Allah", he tells her leaving her hand.

"And don't forget to eat your food", she tells him walking out of the door with a smile on her face thinking of the kiss.

"Whats with the smile?", Hamza asks her.

"What smile? I was thinking about food. I am still hungry," she tells him.
"Yeah, you do know that you cant lie to me, cousin. So tell me or I will ask...."
"No need. I will tell you. I am happy because we are getting engaged and that's tonight, right?", she tells mischievously.
"What are you talking about?", he asks her confused.
"Well, that's the rumor that has been circulating. And I didn't know that you would ask me to marry you when you are still thinking about her?", she asks him.
"Maya, we aren't talking about me or even her. We are talking about the fact that you said we are getting engaged", He tells her. And then looked at her realizing what she was doing. "Now, I get it. He told you about it, right?", he asks her.
"Yes, he did. And I don't know where he got that idea from. Now, don't do anything like that again. And tell Uncle Naeem that I know what he was planning", she tells him smiling shocking him. "Don't be shocked, cousin. Anyways, I have to go now. See you and don't forget that love isn't the enemy neither is she. Give your heart a chance and...."
"And you will give your Rocco a chance, right? Do that then I might consider that. But for now, I need to go", he tells her.
Hamza didn't want to believe in love after what happened to him with the love of his life.
Love isn't for me and it might never be.
"Someday you will open your heart to love when you least expect it. And hopefully, she will open your heart just like Aunt Ayat did to your dad. In shaa Allah. She will be if he lets her", Maya says as she watches Hamza walking away to get away from her.
