My first reaction is to burst out laughing but the way he's staring at me tells me otherwise so my jaw kind of falls open and I gape at him.
"Tell me that's a joke." I say and he shrugs.
"It's a joke." He says monotonously, but he almost sounds hurt so I frown.
"You ass! I didn't mean it that way. I mean, like, why the hell did you kiss me if you are gay?" I ask and this time, he frowns.
"Do you like me or something?" He asks, making me scrunch up my nose.
"Absolutely not, Jimin. I do not like you."
"Then how does it matter? We don't like each other, that kiss didn't mean anything to either of us." He says and I look at him, utterly confused.
"Who else knows? Because you are clearly somewhere stuck between the closet doors. You just told me, but I know not everyone knows." I tell him and he looks amused.
"Stuck between closet doors? That's a new one." He laughs and flicks my nose, "I have known you for like three weeks, Lisa, and I already trust you. That's why I told you." He says and I nod, pulling him closer so I can hug him.
"Thanks for telling me that." I tell him and then I grin when we part, "Now that we are on it, I'd also like to tell you that I am straight ."
He frowns, "What? Why would you tell me that you're straight?" He asks.
"Why is there a need for you to tell me that you're gay?" I say and then he smiles, "Exactly." I say and he pecks my forehead.
"You're totally something else, Lalisa." He whispers.
"Does anyone besides Jennie know?" I ask.
He shakes his head and I nod. We exit the washroom together and I don't see Jennie for the rest of the day, though I do tell Jisoo to go home with Rosé at the end of the day because rosé was pouting like a child. I get out of the school gates, deciding to catch a bus when Jungkook comes behind me, keeping his hand on my shoulder.
"Hey." I smile at him.
"Are you and Jimin an item now?" He asks, displeasure clear in his voice.
I turned towards him, "Would it bother you if we were?" I ask, looking straight into his eyes and he looks uncomfortable with my question.
"You deserve better, Lily." He whispers.
"Better who, Jungkook? You?" I ask and his eyes widen.
I have no idea why I just said that, but I am pretty it has something to do with him acting protective every time I start bonding with any guy. I know he doesn't like me, because if he did, he wouldn't be with Tzuyu, so what the hell is his deal.
"I never meant that." He says and I stare at him, my hands turning into a fist, which is a little painful because the bruise I have still hurts.
"Then what did you mean, Kook?" I ask.
"I just meant that you can do better than him, or Jennie." He says and I huff.
"Okay Jungkook, I'll keep that in mind." I snap before walking away.
Before I can reach the school bus, a hand wraps around my waist and guides me towards the parking lot. I look up at Jimin and gulp, I don't want to take out my frustration with Jungkook on someone else. I think the reason everything bothers him so much where any other guy is concerned is not because he likes me, it's because all my life he has been the only guy. He has been my best friend, and he has had that role of being protective over me, to claim me in a way that no other guy could. And when Jennie came in the picture, Jungkook's protectiveness was natural and now that Jimin is there as well, he just feels threatened that he'll be replaceable in my life.
