"It is just for one day. We will return tomorrow at dusk." I told the boys.

"Why can't we all go now?" Alex asked me.

"Yes, why are you staying here another day?" Jace asked me.

"Last time I checked, we were adults and we could do as we pleased." Daemon told them.

"And you can. It's just... odd." Luke said.

"I thought you didn't like them." Rhaena said.

"If we didn't like them, we would not be here." Rhaenyra said.

"You could be here only for your father." Baela said. "And Luke's trial."

"Okay, you children sure do have a lot of opinions." Baelon said as he let out a nervous laugh.

"Look, yes, we came because of Luke's trial, and because of Viserys, but children... we lived here our whole lives. Ser Criston is my best friend and lives here. I watched Aegon, Aemond, and Helaena grow up... we were always close, mainly Aegon. And Alicent... we go way back, and after tonight we just want to give that relationship a last shot." I explained.

"I agree... on the Alicent part. Criston and I have barely spoken to each other in decades, and my brothers and sister... we were never really close." Rhaenyra said sadly.

"I am here because of them." Daemon said pointing at Rhaenyra and I.

"Same here." Baelon agreed.

Rhaenyra and I shared a look and rolled our eyes.

"Men." We muttered.

"So, with that being said, you and your brothers will go tonight with our guards, and we will arrive tomorrow. Understood?" I asked the group.

"Yes, Mary."

"Yes, aunt Mary."

"Yes, mother."

Those were the answers I heard, which made me smile.

"Good. Now go." I ordered. "See you all tomorrow." I said as I hugged them.

After they said their goodbyes to their parents, they followed the guards and left.

"You are bossy." Daemon said amused.

"No, I am not." I defended.

"You are." Rhaenyra and Baelon said quickly.

"Okay, I am going to pretend I was not offended by that." I told them.

"Well, we're going to go to our chambers." Baelon said as he wrapped an arm around Rhaenyra.

"See you tomorrow." I told them.

"Sleep well." Daemon said cheekily, making me slap his chest.

After they left, Daemon and I looked at each other.

"Alone at last." He sighed happily as he rested his hands on my hips.

"Alone at last..." I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"You want to speak to him." Daemon concluded after a few seconds.

"Who?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Aegon. I know it hurts you seeing the man he is becoming." He told me.

"It does." I sighed sadly. "I just... I need to have a proper conversation with him. We have not had one of those in many years."

"I know." He said reassuringly. "I know speaking to him is important to you. Go."

"But-"

"Mary." He cut me off. "Go. I would rather you go speak to him now, then you not being able to sleep in a few hours because you're overthinking the conversation you did not have."
