Chasing Smoke-Shinichiro Sano x reader

Chapter 2

Y/n pov:

I watch the clouds of smoke spiral towards the sky, my eyes following them to the careless but beautiful splashes and lines of paint on the pillars, forming graffiti that only the artist themself could understand.

"You really think you should just trust a random guy you met yesterday?" I hear Shoko say from beside me. Benkei just stares at him for a while before turning to me and Seiko for our opinions

"Shoko is kinda correct," Seiko says

"I mean...yeah this guy could've just said that as a prank or something for all we know" I try to reason with Benkei who is giving me a look that tells me he has made up his mind

"And you barely know him you literally met yesterday" Shoko adds

Benkei is still silent for a moment before shaking his head "Nah I don't think he would've lied"

"What do you mean 'lied'?? Dude, he didn't even tell you anything he just asked you to not accept their offer with no explanation. How can you trust him?" I say

"I just trust him. He knows something. He knew that they were going to give us an offer."

"Have you ever considered the fact that he could be lying to you?"

Benkei just shakes his head and gets up to leave the abandoned parking lot that became our gang's meeting spot

"Where are you going?" Shoko calls out to him

"To find a way to convince all of you that he wasn't lying" Why does he always have to talk in cryptic??

I take my jacket from beside Seiko and run after Benkei, saying a breathless "bye" to the twins. I might have to warn Kiyoshi about this,

"Come on dude, slow down," I say, finally catching up to Benkei. He doesn't reply. Instead, he looks at me from the corner of his eyes and starts his bike. He mutters "come on" signaling for me to get on the bike "You know where to find him?" I ask, waiting for an answer before getting on the bike

Benkei rolls his eyes and is probably about to reply with some sarcastic comment before he realizes that I'm right, he does not, in fact, have any idea where to find this Shinichiro guy.

"Uhhh" he tries to figure out an answer, recalling anything they talked about the day before yesterday that could help him figure it out "We'll find him"

"Are you sure about that?" I ask.

He rolls his eyes "Are you coming or not?" He says, getting angry now. Realizing that I'm starting to piss him off, I nod and get on his bike

"We could look for him at the park where we met," Benkei told me against the wind now roaring in my ears

I didn't reply, instead trying to think of a way to inform Kiyoshi without getting myself killed.

Shinichiro's pov:

I woke up with a gasp, trying to figure out how to breathe, and with no idea where I was.

I looked around to find myself in what almost looked like a hospital room but it felt like the place had been abandoned and turned into a secret hideout.

Somebody that I couldn't recognize through my unfocused eyes walked in and panic settled over me when I saw him clearly and realised that it was Benkei, the one in the future. If I was in the future right now, then that probably meant that everything I had seen was a dream and my hopes to be able to get a second chance at saving everyone I loved vanished. Then the realisation hit, before I had that creepy dream, I was trying to save y/n, and I had no idea if I had actually managed to save her.
