Ivy's POV
The morning flew in and I knew I had to leave soon. But I didn't want to leave. I just wanted to be near Hannibal. We both knew I had to go. Jack had just called me and said that he found someone. Not a body or parts, an actual person.
"You know, you don't have to go" said Hannibal, trying to keep me from the door.
"Have to.....I know I don't want to go, either"
"Then stay"
"I'm sorry, Hannibal....Ive got to do this"
Hannibal allowed me to open the door this time, but did not let me leave. He grabbed me hand. It was tight, yet gentle.
"Come around tonight. I'll make dinner"
I left with a smile. For some reason this made me so happy. The happiest I've ever been, in fact. The long driver, was made bearable by my thoughts of tonight.
When I arrived at the HQ, Jack waited for me at the reception. We bearly spoke as we made our way up to the back room. Jack stopped me right be for entering.
"Ivy,Talk to her as a child. She knows nothing...."
"Children need to know, in order to understand. She already knows, all she needs is understanding"
"You're beginning to sound like Hannibal....."
"Maybe it's for the better" I said before opening the door. This girl that stood before me was none other than the infamous, Meraim Lass. She was small and thin. He false arm stood out like a sore thumb. She just stood and stared.
"Hi Meraim...My name is Ivy Lane. I'm a detective for the FBI"
"Hello....Why are you here?"
"Well I'm actually here to talk to you"
"Just to talk? Sounds like a waste of time. What do you really want?"
"Just to talk. You've been threw a lot....You don't have to hid it"
"Your name......It sounds familiar"
"It should...The Ripper shot me the same week, you...went missing"
"Didn't you die?"
I had to stop talking for a moment. A girl who knew nothing of me, knows everything about my incident. I felt weak and defenceless.
"No, I did not die. As you can see, I'm every much alive"
Jack came at this moment. Although he must hate me, I knew he still cared. I couldn't help her anymore. She was clueless of the world she lived in. I figured it best to leave now. I still had a date to make. Yes it was early, but I still had to find something to wear, and something I could sleep in...
Later, when it was dark, I made my way towards Hannibal's house. A single knock, signalled my arrival. Hannibal happily greeted me with a kiss. He lead me to the dining room once more. Our dinner of Heart Tartar was Devine . We chilled in his office for a bit.
"So, Darling, how come I have heard so little about you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I've never heard a word about the famous Ripper Victim that lived"
I made my way closer to him. I extended my glass out, for more Whiskey.
"Not many people do.As you know I'm not from here"
"Iceland, you said"
"Yes, But have you ever heard of the Lane name in Iceland?"
"Of course I have.I didn't think it was fitting to bring up your past....After all its not my place to ask"
Again, I moved closer, placing my glass down on his desk. Just before his hands grasped my waist, I caught one hand and pulled up his sleeve.
"We all have our scars. You have yours and I have mine...Its what we take from them, that makes us strong"
His hand made its way towards my wound.
"What happens if two wounded people become one?" I asked
"They are unstoppable" He whispered upon my lips, before gently placing a kiss on them.
"Shall we go up stairs?" He beckoned towards the door.
"I thought you'd never ask"
