Chapter 28: Worry

Hannibal's POV

The pregnancy came as a shock.I am rarely surprise, let alone shock, I've hidden it very well. I don't want to get rid of it, oh no, but then again.......It's a life I don't want to take! Why do they call it a bundle of joy, when it causes so much pain?! Its my baby,But it will always be Ivy's baby more than mine. Yes I wanted Ivy to be mine, all mine, but not like this....

Ivy's POV

Hannibal seemed happy enough for me, well us, I guess. The only problem was how was Jack going to take it......I knew he'd put on a brave face, but after what was he going to think! God! Why is it so hard? People just can't see that I am actually happy here! For years I've gone unhappy, and now that I'm truly happy, everyone tries to ruin it.......I fell in love once....He didn't catch me, So Hannibal picked up the pieces.....
It was still early when I woke up. Hannibal was gone, and the space he occupied was cold. He was gone for a while. I attempted to put on pj bottoms, but it's only now I realised they had gotten small around the stomach region....I just put on one of Hannibal's shirts that was in the wash pile. Stumbling downstairs, I find Hannibal in the kitchen, working hard.
"Good morning.....What's for breakfast?"

"Pancakes"

"I guess I'll be needing more now"

" Eating for two, it's just a myth that people continued to spread"
I loved his intelligence! One of the many things I love about him. After a while, I feel like his love is a drug.....It's addictive and I crave it now. I wish it wasn't so, but unfortunately it seems to have come to this. As he put a plate in the island, he made sure to make eye contact, but not the normal look, but one that remained for longer than needed.....Has my drug just got tired of it user?
"Hannibal? Are you ok?"

"Yes, I'm perfectly fine. I was just thinking about you. When are you going to tell Jack?"

"Today......"

"I have a little surprise when you get back" He said, winking. He made me blush.....He always does.

I found myself lingering outside Jack's office. How the fuck am I meant to tell him! He will kill me.....
"Ivy?" Jack's voice broke my daydreams.

"Hey.....Can I come in?"

"Of course, what's wrong? Is there something wrong with you and Hannibal?"
Well it is about me and Hannibal, but, ha he's in for a shock.

Hannibal's POV

Ivy was gone for awhile. Jack has been getting suspicious of me lately, and that now has me on edge. He may know about me. What if he told Ivy? What if he told her right now?! I can't lose her! I can't lose my baby.......I can't lose my freedom, Not without a fight.

I held Ivy's surprise in my hand. I watched the flames of the fireplace flicker and beckon me to throw away all I have worked for and run. I've never ran away from anything in my life, but now, I'm left with little choice.

The door opened slightly. My eyes were met with Ivy's watery ones. I ran to her.

"Darling, Whats wrong?!" I said, cupping her face in my hands.

"Jack....." By now she was holding me in a tight hug. Her hair was covered lightly by the winter snow.

"Ivy, please tell me"

"Jack was happy!" All this time it was tears of joy. I held her close. I never wanted her to let go. I love her.

Ivy's POV

I let go of Hannibal to reveal my blurry eye and big smile. His tight grip latched to my forearm.

"I'm just happy, your're happy" He gave me a smile.

"My dear" He said, trying to keep his calm mender and slicking back his hair " I have your surprise"

He handed me an envelope. It has a red wax seal, molded into a skull. Pulling my army knife from my pocket and ripped the paper apart.

"Tickets for an opera?"

"Of course. Only the finest for you my dear"

"Yay! But I can't drink"

"Don't worry, I'll make sure there's something for you"

For the rest of the night, Hannibal and I cuddled by the fire and talked about the baby; Where the room was going to be, names, last names,gender. I fell asleep on his lap, dreaming about Me and him.....And our beautiful baby.
