Chapter 3 -- a Delightful Surprise

Chapter Three

Joshua arrived at the location of his music video, before call time. He was excited to finally to have a duet with Fantasia for his new album but it not totally for that reason. He just wanted to keep himself busy to forget the scenario with Hollie the other day.

"Hey, you're too early. It's just six in the morning..." Harold Green, the director said. He was just having his breakfast on the set. They would start working at 8 a.m.

"I came 'coz I know you're having breakfast. I'm starving." Joshua teased and sat in front of him.

"I know you Josh, you have a reason. Anyway, join me here." he replied.

"No, thanks. I had an early breakfast. I'll just go inside the cottage and rehearse the song." he said and tapped his shoulder.

"Well..okay.." Harold said. "To remind you that you finished recording.." he laughed.

Josh heard it and laughed at himself. He didn't know what other excuse he'd make. He continued walking. He could hear the strong waves inviting him to swim. He sat on a hammock and closed his eyes. Relaxed himself for a while. But Hollie flashed in his mind again. Hollie C. not Hollie D.

"What's gotten into you?" he sighed and scolded himself.

Then, he remembered the letter he gave her years ago. He felt bad that she ignored the letter. He had lots of regrets.

"I should not have made it like it was a guessing game. So stupid." he said. He placed some blanks and let her guess the words.

"We're not just meant to be...I think..." he continued. He kept on staring at his phone, wanting to call her. But he was surprised that a number appeared. Hollie was calling.

"Hey...beeuuupp" he answered it immediately. He was delighted that she called.

"Oh Josh...sorry, this is Morgan. From now on, this will be my number. Hollie and i exchanged numbers. Sorry, you know how pretty my girlfriend is. She has lots of stalkers. I'm informing you 'coz I know you're her greatest best friend." Morgan said.

"Ah..o-ookay.." he said feeling so disappointed. "Thanks for the info. I'm glad you told me that." Josh wanted to ask him Hollie's number but he could not do it.

"Hollie will just give you her number. I know you'll meet again." Morgan said. "Bye..."

"Oh..bye..." he said.

"I don't even know if that'll happen. This guy is selfish..okay then, marry her!!" he murmured angrily.

"Hey..." Harold said as he entered the cottage.

"Can we begin now??" Joshua asked.

"You nuts! It's just the two of us here...what's happening to you?" Harold wrinkled.

"I'll call them. They have to be here." he said feeling so upset.

"Josh, what's the matter?" a female voice cut in.

Josh and Harold realized that it was Hollie Donovan.

"Hey..what brings you here?' Joshua asked in astonishment.

"Why? Is it not a good idea? I know that you're bothered since yesterday." she said. Harold shook his head and left them.

"Hol, please...I don't want to argue now." he said calmly.

"But why do you look so affected?" she asked.

"I will just call you later. I'm not really in the mood to talk right now." he said.
