Chapter 12

It was like a dream that suddenly turned into nightmare. As Josh opened his eyes, he found himself inside the hospital room seated near the bed where Hollie was. Her mom was also there, looking at Hollie with weak eyes. She was still unconscious.

"Madam.." he stood from his chair.

"Hey..." she began. "I hope Hollie wakes up.."

"I'm sure she will.." he said hiding his fear.

Suddenly someone was knocking on the door.

As he opened it, he was shocked to see the police with Morgan.

"Hey what are you doing here?" he wrinkled.

"I told the police that before I go to jail. I wanna talk to you.." Morgan said.

"What is this all about?" Hollie's mom interrupted.

"It's about Josh. This won't happen to Hollie if he didn't take her to that place. Josh, you're the one to blame. Don't you know that this jerk forced your daughter?! He pretended to have amnesia!" Morgan said with a sarcastic laughter.

"That's not true. Josh can't do something like that. Hollie went there with him voluntarily." Hollie's mom said.

"Why don't you just go, Morgan. You sound so desperate. Besides, Hollie already know the truth. She still accepts me. There's no room for you in her heart." Josh said calmly.

"We're not yet done, Josh. Watch out." Morgan said and went away with the police.

"So you mean you pretended? really did that?" she asked in disbelief.

"I apologize, madam. I already told Hollie and she forgave me. I didn't plan to do it. I was just mad that time.." he reasoned nervously.

"Josh, partly, Morgan is right. I'm sorry. But I guess you should reflect on about what you've done. When you did, you can come back to us...to Hollie." she said.

"But..I love Hollie and I .."

"Josh, please... I trust you so much. I hope that you will not let us down again. You know how precious she is to us." she said in a soft voice. "I am not mad at you. I am just suggesting that you give her a little time, for a while.." she explained.

"What can I say? I think I'd better go..but I'll never give up on Hollie. " he said.

"Of course.." she tapped his back.

As Josh went out of the room, he felt like he was going to burst into tears. He walked as fast as he could, not knowing what to do. He wasn't able to greet the people who smiled at him on the streets.

After two days, he went back to the hospital, but Hollie wasn't there anymore. He called her best friend, Courtney.

"Josh, hi! I'm sorry, Hollie don't have a phone, but only temporarily. Her parents want her to recuperate without those stresses." Courtney said in a sad voice.

"So you haven't talk to her?" he asked.

"Only once before they left."

"Where are they?"

"They're in Liverpool, Josh. I don't know when they are coming back."

When Josh heard it, he felt like his heart was crushed once again.

"Hey..." she said after noticing his silence. "Don't worry I'll make a way. I'll talk also to her friend there. Maybe she can help us."

"Court, thanks...you're really a great friend." he said but his voice was already shaky.
