Chapter 8 Someone Saves The Day

Chapter 8

"How did it happen? I thought it was raining? And besides, it's a floating cottage." DeAndre asked in confusion while he was inside the car with Hollie and Jessica. They were heading to the hospital where Josh was sent.

"Yeah, it rained so hard. After several minutes that it ended, a fire started to occur. I am so terrified. Who could have done this?" Hollie said in a shaky voice and Jessica embraced her.

"Don't worry, Josh has not acquired serious injuries. Do you have any companions inside the cottage?" Jessica asked.

"None...I don't have suspects. It happened 15 minutes after I left him." Hollie replied, crying.

"By the way, Hollie, you told me that you have talked with Hollie Donovan. I think you should not do such again. She cannot be trusted." DeAndre said.

"What do you mean? Do you speculate that she has something to do with this?' she wrinkled.

"I'm not sure but I have a strong feeling that she does because I can see the way she looks at Josh. There's also this one incident that I caught her putting something on Josh's soda." he revealed. The ladies were silenced by his statement.

"I know it's hard to believe but after that incident, I would always doubt her. I haven't told Josh about this. I feel so guilty." he said.

"Oh no! Then, it's really possible that she can be behind this." Jessica said anxiously.

"Wait a minute,  guys, we should not conclude too soon. Why don't we observe her first? Though I know that she cheated on Josh, she told me something today that I totally believe in." Hollie said.

"And what is that?" DeAndre questioned.

"She told me that Josh paid her to act as his girlfriend....to make me jealous... she accepted his offer because of her daughter. She doesn't love Josh."  Hollie explained. DeAndre and Jessica exchanged glances and DeAndre scratched his head.

"Oh my... then we should really find out if all these are real.." DeAndre frowned.

"But... I think this calls for a celebration!" Jessica elbowed Hollie.

"Hmmm...let's check out Josh first..." Hollie giggled.

Suddenly, her cell phone rang. It was Morgan calling.

"Hi!" Hollie answered.

"Let's meet now.." Morgan said angrily. "Where are you?"

"We're going to the hospital. Let's meet later." she replied.

"My parents are coming in two hours. You have to be here." he demanded.

"and why?" she asked feeling so annoyed.

"Because we're getting married in 5 days..." he said.

"What?!!! That's unfair. You haven't told my parents...let's talk about this again Morgan.. we are..." she didn't finish her sentence because he ended the call immediately.

"Hey! another problem?!" Jessica asked seeing Hollie getting tensed once again.

"Yeah..but I don't care. I wanna see Josh.." she said trying to calm herself.

"Good decision..." DeAndre smiled as he drove faster.

“So what now? Are we still going or not?” DeAndre asked seeing how hooked Jessica and Hollie were at Hollie Donovan and Morgan.

“Let’s wait till their conversation is over. We have to observe them.” Jessica said.

“Yeah. I have a strong feeling that what they are talking about has something todo about Josh. By the way, I haven’t told you that before Josh woke up, someone knocked on the door. But when I opened it, I saw no one except for this tiny box with crumpled paper. Believe it or not, it was Josh’s letter that was given to me years ago, which I misplaced. So weird.” Hollie wondered showing the box and the letter to them. She felt like someone knew about the letter.
