Gabriella leaned against the police cruiser as Charlie collected Bella. Gabriella and her sister had never been super close, Bella had barely visited and when she did all she would do was mope.
It was hard not to take offense. Not to mention she was never very welcoming to Gabriella's mother. The brunette shoved her hands in her pockets as she waited.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket right about the time that she shoved her hand in. Grabbing it, she glanced at the name, a grin tugging at her lips before she answered. "Jake! I was wondering when I was going to hear from you."
"Yeah, sorry, I've been busy working on that truck your dad bought." Jake replied. She just knew that the boy was covered in grease still. "Quil and Embry wanted to make sure you're still on for pizza night?"
"Of course! It's been a tradition since we were like six. I wouldn't miss it if hell froze over."
"Great, you can drive me back to the rez while our dads watch the game."
Gabriella could see Charlie walking back with her sister. The two girls couldn't be more opposite. Bella was pale and kind of plainly dressed, whereas Gabriella was tanned, always having some bold color mixed into her outfit. Bella's hair was limp, straight while Gabriella had bouncy curls. "Sounds like a plan. Bye Jake."
"Bye Gabby." With that, she hung up, slipping her phone back into her pocket.
"Hey, Bella, long time no see." Gabriella chirped softly.
Bella offered a strained smile to her half sister. "Hey, Gabriella, you look good. You're hair is a lot longer."
"Thanks." She wasn't even sure if the last part could be considered a compliment or not, but she would just smile it off.
The car ride was just as stifling as the conversation at the airport. It got so bad, Gabriella had put her headphones in to have at least some form of noise filling her ears.
-----------
Gabriella had been all to happy to leave Bella behind and make her way to the rez with her best friend. The baby blue jeep wrangler made its way easily down the gravel road that led to Jacob's house.
Embry and Quil were waiting outside, waving when they spotted the jeep. "'Bout time, losers." Quil joked as he opened Gabriella's door for her to get out. Embry had opened Jake's as well. "What took you so long?"
"We went ahead and grabbed the pizza." Gabriella motioned to the backseat where three large pies sat with some sodas.
"Now, what are we watching tonight?" Jacob asked, looking to Embry. It was his turn to pick.
"I got Child's Play."
"Wicked." Jacob and Gabby said at the same time, laughing. The boys and Gabby grabbed everything before heading into the house.
Embry handed Gabby a soda, flopping down on her right while Jake occupied the spot to her left. "So, why didn't you invite your sister to come?"
Gabby frowned, setting the soda on the table. "Bella? She wouldn't know fun if it bit her. Besides, last time she was here visiting I tried to get her to hang out with us and she said and I quote 'I have better things to do than to hang out with a child.'" She sighed softly. "I think she still kind of blames my mom and me for her parents splitting."
Quil looked over. "I thought that was Renee's doing?"
"Yeah, according to dad Renee couldn't stand the idea of being trapped in a town like Forks." Gabby explained "Guess the apple fell straight down from the tree."
"Okay, okay. Enough sour talk. It is our traditional pizza night. Only smiles and good vibes." Embry called out as he hit play on the movie.
