The next week continued just as the last. Jasper continued to ice out Gabriella, the rest of his family trying to comfort her, but she seemed to sink into this shell.

She became more quiet, reserved. Not even glancing in his direction at this point. It was a horrible feeling, but she wasn't going to act like a fool and chase behind someone who didn't want her around.

Relief washed over her when that final bell rang and she could escape. All she had wanted to do was go to La Push and sit in Jacob's room. No, the one thing she needed the most right now was her mom. Climbing into her jeep, she left the school and headed for the cemetery, to her mother's grave.

Gabriella carefully moved the few weeds and dead plants away from the headstone, the tears already trying to fall. "Mama, I'm so lost." She cried softly.

Gabriella wasn't sure how long she had been sitting there. The sound of twigs snapping and something moving in the trees caused her to come out of her mental funk.

"Hello?" She called out as she slowly began to make her way back towards her jeep. Her eyes continued to scan the forest surrounding the cemetery.

If this was a wild animal, she couldn't make any sudden movements. She grabbed her taser out of her jacket pocket, turning it on.

The little hairs on the back of her neck stood straight up, even when she was in her vehicle there was still this feeling of panic and fear crashing into her. She fumbled with the keys trying to get it in the ignition.

There was a loud bang on the top of her jeep. She screamed and jumped, causing her to drop the keys. Gabriella sat completely still, trying to barely even breathe as reached for her phone.

Gabriella quickly hit Jasper's name holding the phone up to her ear. The cemetery was a few miles from their house he would be able to get to her quickly. "Please pick up." She cried softly.

She screamed as something began to rock the vehicle back and forth. She heard Jasper finally answer. "Jazz! Help! Something is after me!" The sound of her voice was enough to make Jasper's stomach drop straight to his feet.

"Gabby? Gabby! Where are you?" He yelled into the phone as he ran outside. He could hear the jeep being rocked. He heard the crunching of metal and heard Gabriella scream again.

Both on the phone and in the distance. He took off in the direction the sound had come from, pushing his body to go as fast as it could.

He could hear Alice and Carlisle not far behind him. Breaking through the trees, Jasper growled when he saw someone standing over Gabriella. The person sped away, letting them know it had been a vampire.

Running over to Gabriella, he gathered her in his arms. "Gabby? Hey come on, open your eyes."

"They were toying with her." Alice said in horror as she saw the state of the jeep. It looked like the vampire had ripped the roof open, smashed the windshield and even dented in the hood.

"Please, just open your eyes." The bronze haired male gripped the dark haired female in his arms. He could smell the blood as it came out of her body. "If you open your eyes, I promise...I won't push you away anymore." If he could shed tears, they would have been falling like rain.

He could feel the thick blood coming from the back of her head and he could see her arm was broken. He looked to Carlisle. "What do we do?" He sounded so broken.

Carlisle began to examine her to see exactly how severe it was. "It doesn't look like he bit her anywhere nor does it look like she has internal bleeding. I can patch her up, but we need to get her back to the house."

Jasper stood up, bringing Gabriella into his arms. He could hear her heartbeat. It was still working so hard to keep her going.

"Please. Please don't leave me." He begged her as they ran back to the Cullen house.
